Thank goodness it was only 4. I can tot up at least 4 separate and life ruining cock ups. That's an average of one a night. What would 14 be like? Where's my compo?towny44 wrote:Ah, you never mentioned before that it was only a 4 night cruise, if you had done your research properly you would have known never to book a 4 nighter on Celebrity, apparently the crew hate them.Mervyn and Trish wrote:And to be fair to me, I don't think they can do no wrong. They just suit us better than most. (And Calamity did manage to pack more cockups into 4 nights than P&O have in nearly 200!)

Re: Current Affairs
Oh, shock
, horror, surprise
David Davies is now saying that we may have to pay the EU post Brexit in order to have access to the single market.
MP's now outraged that such a thing might/will happen and the public will not accept it.
Which planet have these people been on for the last six months?

Re: Current Affairs
They just don't get it do they? It just goes to show how out of touch they, the politicians, the Metropolitan elite and the media are with the grassroots electorate. Listening to the likes of Farron, Clegg, now Davies and I sense a distinct desire to backslide on the referendum result.
Mind you, am I surprised? Bliar twice promised a referendum, one of which no doubt got him elected for another term, only to renege on both occasions. I am still astounded by the way in which politicians can lie and still maintain a straight face.

Why can't we all just go back to the Common Market, and if the mainland Europeans want to play Billy Suggers with a political union alongside that, let them.

Unless Zak can pull off a good result tonight, you will see a lot more 'backsliding' from MP's.
And with Supreme court starting on Monday, things could get interesting!
Looks like it's getting to Peter Bone to try a sneaky trick to smuggle it through Parliament.

Re: Current Affairs
Although Ì voted to leave and have absolutely no use for the political part of the EU, I am a pragmatist and enough of a realist to accept that we were never likely to gain full access for our exports to the so called "single market", without having to contribute something to the EU exchequer.
However I do hope that David Davis manages to agree a reasonable fee, and that we don't end up paying more than we used to, and that we do not have to agree to the free movement of labour. If he achieves that I will be highly delighted that we have managed to have our cake and eat it.

Poor Zac.
Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
A great result for Tactical Vote for Europe, the WEP, the Greens, Remain United (and a lot of Labour activists) who all helped to get the Pro Remain candidate elected.
Suddenly there will be a lot of MP's wondering how safe their seat is.
But it was a London borough, the metropolitan elite, wonder what the MP for Maidenhead is thinking about it.....

Our Prime Minister has been banned from the next EU one day meeting and dinner, if we are not getting the benefits of the club we should cancel our direct debit.

It was a victory for the people of Richmond, who, let's face it, are hardly representative of the rest of the UK. Seventy per cent of them voted in the referendum to remain in the UK, the Lib Dems poured all their resources into this campaign whilst Zac was funding his own. Financially there was no contest.
Morally Zac Goldsmith put his money where his mouth is whilst that odious little creep Farron is still banging on about another referendum and proclaiming the result in Richmond represented the views of the rest of the country. I suppose with 9 MPs the deluded little man feels he is a force to be reckoned with.
However some people clearly believe the rhetoric and I hope Teresa May stands firm and does what she needs to do.

The WEP have approximately twice as many paid up party members as UKIP.

You need to enlighten us Jack since that nice Mr Google only quotes a security algorithm when I try to look for them. Clearly not as popular as UKIP on my searcg engine.Jack Staff wrote:The WEP have approximately twice as many paid up party members as UKIP.

I would imagine most remaining lib-dem voters cringe when Farron opens his gob...He should be rebuilding his party not destroying it by spouting this nonsense about another referendum.

I also expected that we would have to continue to contribute funds to the EU coffers but anticipated that it would be phased out over 10 years-ish.
Not at all unreasonable in my book.

Yes Mob....It would be easy to say "sod the lot of them" but in reality the passage of change will become a lot easier if the EU think they've got something out of the deal....l personally think a small donation to the EU coffers would allow us more time to establish ourselves as world trading partners.....that is if of course on the presumption that the EU is still intact in two years time?Manoverboard wrote:I also expected that we would have to continue to contribute funds to the EU coffers but anticipated that it would be phased out over 10 years-ish.

I have just heard the Labour party membership in Richmond Park is over 1600. They polled 1515!
Perhaps Mr Corbyn might realise his job as leader of the opposition is to oppose the government, while he still has some members/voters left.

Well this last weekends voters' views on the EU gave contradictory results, I cannot say that I derive much joy from the Italian vote, but if it leads to a potential Italian withdrawal from the Euro I will not be too unhappy.

It would appear that the calling of referendums has been the death knell of many a politician..In fact it's the only decision that Cameron ever got right for the country.
I agree towny...This decision will leave the rest of the EU trembling in their boots....it'll be interesting to see how it all unwinds.
