It might have been more believable had their accents not kept slipping...

It's officially ok. to talk about Christmas today, this is the day we usually put our tree up but this year we are not bothering as we are on Oceana for Christmas and New Year.
Much to the disgust of my daughter and the grandchildren the baubles will stay in the loft for another year, the last thing I want to do is strip decorations down when I get home.

The one thing I hate about Christmas is wrapping presents. I'm cr*p at it.
Not sure why Mrs S wanted me to wrap one of hers from my mother, it looks like the cat wrapped it

Tip of the day - always choose books or things in boxes - so much easier to wrap !

We've just brought the Christmas Gromits and Shaun down from the loft. The tree will probably go up next Wednesday.

Talking of tips its time for one of Raybo's Scroogh DIY tips when you receive something in a half decent box don't throw it away, you can cover it with sticky backed glitter paper for use at Christmas or Birthdays.qbman1 wrote:Tip of the day - always choose books or things in boxes - so much easier to wrap !
I also save bottle and gift bags and just replace the labels.
You think that's tight ? Cheryl and I bought a cheapo Christmas card years ago and we both wrote our Christmas wishes to each other in it, we did it just to p*ss our kids off originally but now it has become an annual tradition.
Our kids and grandkids know not to put my name on the envelopes of greetings cards because I like to recycle them.
Merry Humbug to All,
Ebeneezer.

I had my annual viewing of the Hogfather last night so Christmas may now commence (but not to the point of doing anything daft like putting the tree up early!!)

Re: It's getting to feel a lot like Christmas............
We always used to get going on the first of the month, but it's all been a bit piecemeal this year. However, now I've tackled the dreaded card list, there's only one more pressie to get and wrap (and even so it's more of a stocking filler than a main pressie), food all under control, tree done, even a festive wreath by the front door!
Sometimes I wondered if we would actually get sorted and ready for 'the big day', but I think that it's looking very much all systems go! Thankfully.
