What a beautiful day.

Unread post by barney »

It was minus 5 C when I woke up this morning down here in the Garden of England but we had a beautiful sunrise and now have a clear, cloudless sky and the sun is shining.
Crisp under foot and a quite beautiful January day. :D

It's beautiful here in South Wales too, but bitterly cold. I need to go hospital visiting later so will need to wrap up really well.

Same here Barney in sunny South Wales - the sky is blue and criss crossed with plane trails - I'll be up there myself in just over a week to the Caribbean

Just about to take the dog out - well wrapped up

Same here in Swansea.

Just off to see our new puppy. He has been named as he is to be microchipped before he comes home to us next week.
In the end it was a toss up between Bertie (my choice) or Barney.
Husband and son won in the end so Barney it is .

Have a good day all

We can't really complain about temperatures at the moment as we are heading north in the near future! We well and truly fell in love with 'up north' last year, and it's almost time to start thinking about fishing out special clothing and packing - can't wait to get back there.

Anyway - it's great when the weather is a bit nippy, what a fabulous excuse for a hot drink and snack.

It's been wet, cold and miserable up here. We have had some beautiful days with heavy frost greeting us in the mornings and bright clear skies. Last night I put a windscreen cover on the car to save scraping the screen this morning but today it was just wet. Looks like you are having better weather than we are darn sarf.

Hi OBF - the 'up north' we are going to is quite a bit further north than Cumbria! Notwithstanding that - Cumbria is an awesome area, definitely going to be on our list for future breaks.

I can find beauty in these cold days - from rain drops dripping off branches to frost patterns on blades of grass. Time for a nice mug of soup.

I can't really grumble. This was a walk we did by Crummock Water on New Years Day.

Well, it's been quite weird down here.

At the start of the day
Tuesday -5C
Wednesday -7C - that's a swing of 12 degrees
Thursday - 0C - but still a beautiful sunny day with hardly a cloud in the sky.

I'm with you Boris+, with my walking boots on and a good hat and coat I will go out in the foulest of weathers and still find a beauty in the British countryside. Coming home to a simmering stew and a log fire just makes the coldest of winter days seem magical.

We need it nice and cold to be best prepared for our holiday - I've even managed to find my special photography cold weather gloves!

But I do agree wholeheartedly, there's nothing quite so nice as getting back home and enjoying warmth and cosiness - maybe a mug of soup or a nice warm pasty.

Another stunning day down here in The Garden

A balmy 13 degrees and the sun is shining.

It's hard to believe that heavy snow is on the way down

Getting colder here, although a beautiful day. Temperature plummets tomorrow - just when we have to go to a burial!

Just started to rain in Oxford. We're told to expect it to turn to snow at 4ish - just in time for the drive home !

Heavy snow forecast at Maldon towers between 6 - 9pm. Believe it when I see it. After all the rain that's forecast before hand I can't see it settling even if it does snow, thankfully.

Snow is ok and looks lovely until some little sh*t goes and churns it all up on your front grass.
