Managing friends (and foes)

Unread post by JenniC »

Hi David

Having issues with this as getting the name in the box but when I submit and then confirm I get an SQL error... Any idea why? Forum is getting better and better BTW. :)

Yes I just tried to add a few friends and got the error message as well.
This site is great, well done, hope you keep it running even if P&O start theirs up again

Anyone know what adding friends/foes means on this site?

E.g. Easier to see friends posts/messages ?

I am aware of the problem - it is on the list.

The concept of friends is pretty much as it was on the P&O site - gives you a list when you want to PM one of them.

Foes means that if you make a member a foe then you will not see any posts that they make

Are we allowed to be friends with Admin or would that be seen by some as having inside inflence ? ;)

DN .... were you ' notified ' when I befriended you, did you have to accept my request and will you also be notified when I cancel it ?

Just on a learning curve ...

There is no reciprocal befriending members, unlike the P&O site. Each member has their own list

So ... having befriended DN will ' I ' now appear on ' his ' list of friends ?

If I look at his Profile to check I am unable to see his friends, assume that is correct ?

Admin, I am a tad confused ... :?

You seem to be saying that I can create a list of friends but that I will be the only one who knows about it !

What therefore is the point of having a bunch of friends who don't even know that I am, or wish to be, their friend ?

Friends is a quick way of accessing members when PMing rather than having to look up their usernames all the time

DN ... you will never know ;)

There is no such thing as a friend anymore :( , as I understand things, but there is a way for either of us to add one another's names as friends in order that we could if we so wished send a PM, without searching though the Member's list, to each other.

Trust that clarifies the situation somewhat :D
