Re: Current Affairs
The media and the left wing of the political parties are much to blame for hyping everything up.
Trump could and should, in his capacity as President, have handled things much better but the borderline hysteria we are seeing ever since his election borders on hypocrisy when we see what else is happening in the world.
I don't particularly like him but at least he comes out with what he is thinking rather than the pussyfooting routines we get from our own politicians seeking to gain approval by saying what they think their audiences want to hear but never tackling the real issues.

Whilst it is primarily lefties and luvvies that are doing the protesting, then I have to assume he must be doing something of which I approve.

Re: Current Affairs
All this shouting and screaming about how he is victimising people from Muslim countries - a valid point on the BBC HYS board pointed out that Indonesia is the world's largest Muslim country, yet they are not included in the ban.
So it's hardly a ban directed at Muslims then.
While the ISIS tosspots try to infiltrate genuine travellers to get into the West, I think The Donald's stance is correct - if poorly thought out and executed.

Re: Current Affairs
I rather suspect a large proportion of those signing petitions and cluttering our cities with placards are the very same people who are not prepared to do the same when Muslim extremists blow up innocent UK/USA citizens.
Whilst l don't agree with the wayTrump is going about this l think he is sending a clear message out to those Islamic nations that America has had enough. I think, to some degree it is 'Muslims' themselves who have brought this about by not protesting 'on mass' about the radicalisation of those paradise seeking nutters who have hijacked their faith to cause misery around the world.
I for one fully support Donald coming over for a cuppa with the Queen.

Me to, The Queen has to shake hands with a lot worse than him.
I am getting fed up with all these people saying they represent me (in one way or another) they don't!

Re: Current Affairs
Hopefully someone will start an online petition saying that they agree that Trump should come on a state visit.
I would sign that.
Just for a bit of mischief

At least he's only issuing temporary travel restrictions. His fairly recent predecessor selected certain countries and dropped bombs on them.

Am I missing something?
Boko Haram militants kidnap 100s of school girls to rape. (80,000) people demonstrate across the world!
Aleppo's largest hospitals were bombed killing 100s of innocent people including women and children. (15,000) people demonstrate around the world!
Women raped across Germany by foreign men (10,000) demonstrate around the world!
Nun’s are gang raped by Muslim men in India. (8,000) demonstrate across the world!
More than 200 refugees have drowned or froze to death in the opening days of 2017 some of these women and children. (5,000) demonstrate across the world!
In Britain women are still made to worship away from the men in mosques (Nobody demonstrates)!
Donald Trump makes some lewd remarks against women and (3,000.000) million people demonstrate across the world including 100,000 in London!"
He makes a good point. I never saw Lineker or any of the left wing luvvies out on the streets protesting about those.

And didn't the State Department stop processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011 including those who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets.anniec wrote: 31 Jan 2017, 09:25At least he's only issuing temporary travel restrictions. Did anybody see Mrs 'We claimed double expenses even though we lived in the same house' Balls with her impassioned plea in because refugees were living in a house which had mice!!! Try living in the country, dear, there's loads of people share their houses with the furry little beasties!!! Some of our politicians are totally clueless and have no idea from their ivory towers how the rest of the country live. Good job we've got The Socialist Worker fanning the flames otherwise what would our left wing luvvies do for a good protest.
Going to a darkened room to calm down!!!

Re: Current Affairs
Now I've got rid of all the little pink symbols that were all over the site I've added my name too. I can't think that an invitation issued in the name of the Queen, even though it was through the Government, would ever be revoked other than in the most extreme circumstances. Inviting a democratically elected Present that some people don't approve of doesn't count - I can't stand the man myself and before the election I said I couldn't believe that the Americans would be so stupid as to elect him - I was wrong! Yet the Americans did elect him and that's that.

This is the same little t**t who walked off the set of Sky's evening review of the papers because he felt he was not being listened to.Happydays wrote: 31 Jan 2017, 12:28OBF, That little t**t this morning said All the people were against President Trump coming, for that comment alone I've signed up to invite him!
Back to the petition................ The news channels on TV showed the petition opposing Trump's visit virtually minute by minute. I wonder if this petition will get the same treatment............................or even a mention. It will be interesting to see.
