Re: Current Affairs
I wonder how many signatures any petition would get if you had to spend say five pounds to add your vote.

Re: Current Affairs
Both petitions are now above 100,000 and will be debated in parliament on Feb 20th, which seems rather pointless but I assume they keep several hundred civil servants occupied.

Re: Current Affairs
Article 50 Bill passed by 498 to 114
Tiny Tim will be wanting a re-run whilst Mrs Krankie will be busy writing up her Independence Bill. It will be interesting to see who the 114 are and whether they voted according to the wishes of their constituents or because they know better than they do.
Perhaps now we can get on with sorting the country's future out and preparing for the day we are rid of this outdated rest home for failed politicians.

It doesn't matter what the constituents wanted the country voted to leave, these people need to accept that and get on with the next step. I get fed up with all the bleeding hearts trying to change or delay what was voted for!! On both sides of the Atlantic.

Re: Current Affairs
I see the Bank of England has yet again had to change its forecast for growth. The sooner we get back to someone who knows what they are doing rather than the present incumbent who appears to have had a personality bypass and whose forecasts have proved inaccurate.

Re: Current Affairs
There was even a handful of Labour MPs who still voted against the bill last night even though their constituencies voted in favour of BrexitHappydays wrote: 01 Feb 2017, 22:47It doesn't matter what the constituents wanted the country voted to leave, these people need to accept that and get on with the next step. I blooming well hope NOT, they need to get on with managing the powers they already have (mores the pity). They (SNP) will use any excuse to try and get another referendum and will keep doing so until they get the result they want which is independence at any cost!qbman1 wrote: 02 Feb 2017, 13:14....and there'll be a new Independence Referendum heading for a polling station near you soon !!Happydays wrote: 01 Feb 2017, 22:47It doesn't matter what the constituents wanted the country voted to leave, these people need to accept that and get on with the next step. So, Donald Trump has chosen Mickey Pence as his vice-president....

Re: Current Affairs
I'm not really bothered either way about Scottish independence. If that is really what the Scots want then they can vote for it and good luck to them under the watchful eye of Salmon and Sturgeon. After all they voted them all in so that may be where their destiny lies.
On the other hand if they opt to stay then let's be rid of the whingeing pair of them and start looking to a UNITED Kingdom, all working together for the common good.
However that also relies upon our overlords in Westminster sharing out the pie a little more equitably instead of taking the lion's share for themselves and throwing the scraps to the minions living out in the sticks. Interesting to see that the greater majority of the MPs who opposed the Article 50 Bill were from London constituencies. I wonder why they are so keen to remain in the EU?
I had a ride up to Glasgow just before Christmas. Maybe Mrs Krankie ought to do something about all the beggars lining her streets before telling the rest of us what we should and should not be doing. I was literally shocked by the extent of the problem.
Btw, I hope Diane Abbott is feeling a lot better today................

Sadly, I fear there' s a whole line of whingeing clones waiting behind them to take over the mantle !oldbluefox wrote: 02 Feb 2017, 17:10I'm not really bothered either way about Scottish independence. Re: Current Affairs
Brexit, Scottish Independence, Trump and whatever else comes next, I am just happy that the status quo seems to have been abandoned and something a little closer to what the electorate want is being proposed.
There will still be hurdles to overcome, it now seems the EU might want us to pay to leave the EU, on top of all the money we have paid in already, but hey ho tomorrow is another day.

Re: Current Affairs
Eurocrats want the EU flag to take centre-stage on the shirts of our national teams as part of "an integrated approach to sport policy."
And they wonder why I voted to leave!!!! I want UK to have its own identity and not to be told by faceless bureaucrats in Brussels (except when they move everything for a few days to Strasburg to pacify the French!!!) what we must and must not do.
And if Tiny Tim, Mrs Krankie & Co don't like it would somebody put them on a bus with a one way ticket along with Gina Miller and any other Remoaners who cannot accept the result and continue to spout the same arguments.
