Re: Football
Despite the referees best efforts to deny us victory tonight, it was never a penalty, Palace thrashed Derby 1-0 on their patch.
Next up home to 'Ull on Tuesday.

Re: Football
... and Watford wasted far too many chances so got exactly what they deserved ... one point
Having said that the Stadium at Wolves will be the grandest by some margin in Division 1 next season, meanwhile on Friday their players looked dead and buried in the warm up so confidence must be very low.

Re: Football
Bloody tractorboys!! Yet again we drop points against teams struggling for survival. We had chances but couldn't put the ball away so no complaints.
Looks like the playoffs may be our best option now.

Re: Football
We had Derek Dougan playing for us at one stage. A great character and a good footballer. And don't forget a certain Steve Bull who was a loyal player for Wolves. The trouble is once you get the skids of relegation sometimes it's hard to stop. As we know only too well.

ps I have just been invited to Hull vs Middlesborough on the 6th of April, for a bit of corporate hospitality

Re: Football
I will be back in the "cheap seats" again tomorrow night....home match vs Middlesborough. I can sense yet another probable spanking coming our way!

Re: Football
Spanking Romig? Do you pay more for those seats?
To be honest there's not a great deal of atmosphere in the posh seats. Apart from more comfortable seating, a bit of lunch beforehand and the usual extras I feel much happier on the terraces. I'd rather shout and jump around than clap politely. Mind you, just recently the chance to shout and jump around would be welcome just lately......

Re: Football
You didn't miss a penalty, it was saved.....We hit the bar as well.....But you are probably right, perhaps thrashed was a little bit of an exaggeration and a draw would have been a fairer result but the great thing about football is that you don't always get what you deserve.Dark Knight wrote:PTE: Thrashed?? hardly, you were lucky to get the points, we missed a penalty and had several chances wasted

Re: Football
At the game a couple of weeks ago, I went in the "heritage Suite" (which is in effect the top box). 10 of us in total....5 Town season ticket holders plus a (dirty) Leeds fan and a Forest fan, plus the others are part-time supporters at Town. Believe me, had we scored against Ipswich (which to be fair never looked likely) there would have been plenty of atmosphere in our seats!paultheeagle wrote:You didn't miss a penalty, it was saved.....We hit the bar as well.....But you are probably right, perhaps thrashed was a little bit of an exaggeration and a draw would have been a fairer result but the great thing about football is that you don't always get what you deserve.Dark Knight wrote:PTE: Thrashed?? hardly, you were lucky to get the points, we missed a penalty and had several chances wasted

Enjoy your afternoon on April 6th with the 'prawn sandwich' brigade..........I don't understand why a Derby fan would want to go see Hull v Middlesbrough when their own team are at home....If you go to football that day get down to Pride Park and cheer on the Rams with true supporters......Real fans are hard to come by in the Corporate areas of any ground.

A good night for Hudds Town & Wolves, a 2 or 3 point advantage over all the other strugglers.
