This tip is included in the cost of the council tax, not an extra hand out for a job and service they are already paid to provide.

That's the sad price of ageing. We have 80 addresses on our Christmas card list. Most of them couples and a lot of them our age. Unless we all live to 100 probably over 100 who will pop off in the next 30 years so an average of 3 a year. Just hope our turn doesn't come too soon. Too much still to do

It does make you look at life differently, even if it is for a short while. You never know what's round the corner so make the most of it now.

Looks like the rats have moved off to their summer quarters and the bunny-proof fencing measures seem to be holding up so far. Too dry for slugs so just the pigeons and partridge to contend with at t'allotment

What about the good old fashioned 3 halfpenny bangers we used to throw on mischief night, they would scare the birds without damaging the veggies.

Hey I will have you know that Huddersfield is/was the home of Standard Fireworks and Lion Fireworks, probably the best fireworks in the world, or is that our lager?

We've been in a hotel in Brum overight. Met a lonely businessman away from home alone who insisted on plying us with drink.
