The opponents of Brexit wanted a second referendum. In effect this is it. It'll be the major issue and if TM wins it'll be an endorsement of her approach. And the end of Corbyn.
Can we see Mrs Krankie's end too.......please !
:o That's a bit personal, isn't it? Certainly not before the watershed.

Stop moaning Cubie political discussions prior to a GE are generally great fun, and they nearly always throw up someone who is articulate, good looking and easy to listen to, and worth a bit of a bet as a future leader.
Actually one of the best comments at present is whether this is the end of the Labour party, I seem to remember similar speculation about the end of the Tories before the 2010 election, or at least them never again being able to form a Govt. on their own.

I've never voted Tory in my life but the thoughts of Corbyn and his Metropolitan elite of Diane Abbott (state schools are good enough for the rest of you but not for my child), Emily Thornberry (she of the white van faux pas), Shami Chakrabarti (another hypocrite of the private school mob), supported by Comrade McCluskey, leaves me with no alternative cos if this lot get in we are literally up the swanee without a paddle.
I listened to his speech this morning and he made lots of nice noises without actually saying anything.

Isn't that the whole purpose of being an MP?

As much as I enjoy the rough and tumble of General Elections, I'm looking forward to going away on Sunday on Oriana for 19 days. I'll be nice and relaxed for the run in when I return.

I think that this election could be a defining moment in UK politics.

There are a lot of "ifs" here but I believe that it could be feasible.

IF the Tories win the General Election - which at the moment appears to be a foregone conclusion.
IF Labour loose a significant number of seats and/or have a significant reduction in their share of the vote then there will almost certainly be a[nother] Labour leadership challenge.
IF Corbyn is arrogant enough to contest the Labour leadership and ...
IF Corbyn's Labour Party supporters re-elect him as leader ...

... then there will be a split of the Labour Party which will take many years to heal.

And Jezzer is promising to spend, spend, spend. And Tim "Does anyone know who I am" Farron reckons they'll be the only credible opposition.

But will anyone be voting on anything other than Brexit or, north of the border, Scottish independence?

Probably not but only because Theresa needs a big majority to help in her negotiations with the EU, and post Brexit the Conservatives are the only credible party to ensure our economy keeps on growing, and that we don't spend all our rainy day money, like Gordon Brown did.

Seems they invited Amber Rudd, Nick Clegg and Diane Abbot onto BBC Breakfast this morning. Now, I really am losing the will !

And....is there anyone's vote that Labour is not trying to bribe with spurious offers of unsustainable benefits ?!

I'll be one of the rich paying more taxes. After all I'm wealthy with an income above £25k because I paid into a pension and have money in the bank because I scrimped and saved. No bribes for me as an evil capitalist.

I heard that one about the Police - very laudable. Notwithstanding the fact that there is/will not be the money to fund 10,000 police officers but just where do they expect to suddenly find them, along with 10,000 nurses, 10,000 doctors,10,000 teachers etc.

They seem to overlook the fact that it takes years to train people in these professions!
