Vodafone Broadband

Unread post by Stephen »

Does anyone on here have Vodafone broadband, and more specifically their Fibre 76 broadband. If you do, is the product and customer service any good.

Do you use broadband for on line gaming, if not why would you need superfast fibre BB?
We have bog standard Sky fibre via Openreach approx 30mb download and 8-9mb upload, and surfing is no faster than my old steam powered BB because speed here depends on the the server capacity of the sites you're surfing. The only benefit we have found is that downloading to our Sky Box via Sky On Demand is much faster, HD TV programmes now download in minutes, but its only costing me £1.99 per month for 18 months, so I can live with that.

The original question still stands.

If it is via a land line then it will be the BT Openreach superfast BB that Vodafone offer, subject to the service standards that Openreach will provide.

No more so than most, I know that in most of the UK there are only 2 land line suppliers, BT and Virgin, and Virgin do not offer their system to 3rd parties, BT as the original national phone provider do.
So all phone and broadband suppliers, other than Virgin, use the BT system, now managed by Openreach.

Fibre 76 broadband
Unless to have fibre to your property then this really means nothing (well not very much). All Broadband connections can only work at the speed of the slowest link in the chain and as far as I am aware there are very few, if any, public point to point complete fibre connections in this country at the moment.

I have Vodafone mobile service and I cannot say that their customer service is wonderful - on scale of 1 to 10 I would give them a generous 6
