Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
Work this out.
I was doing some car insurance quotes and was surprised that it works out cheaper if you park your car overnight on your drive rather than in your garage, and if you include your spouse on the policy rather than just yourself.
I always assumed it worked the other way round.

Perhaps they've seen the state of your garage roof ?Stephen wrote: 27 Jun 2017, 18:26Work this out.

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
I certainly had to do some hard negotiating to avoid my car insurance increasing when Mrs T stopped driving after her stroke, apparently they assume couples are safer drivers. But garage vs drive seems a bit strange.Stephen wrote: 27 Jun 2017, 18:26Work this out.

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
I've come across the couples thing. I think it's they assume women are safer drivers so dilute the risk compared to just us hooligan men.
But the garage thing is weird. Not that it'll ever affect us. First the garage is full of odd bits of wood, wire and nails that are worth far more than the car. And second our house was built in 1968, to 1968 car standards. When Trish had one of the original Minis it was just about possible to drive it in and then get out of the car. If I ever managed to drive my car in I'd have to sleep in it!

No - a bunny strolled out in front of me on the way in to work this morning and I swerved to avoid it. Mind you, it was 20 miles from home so I cannot say I would have done the same thing if it had been on the road outside the allotment !!
