Wrong Foxy, the EU is acting like a spoilt willful child who really needs a good smacking on the backside to stop its unruly behaviour.

If the antics of the EU over the past 6 months is an example of the way they behave it's actually worse than I thought before the referendum.

Glastonbury, enjoyed by tens of thousands of eco-warriors, environmentalists and some anti fracking campaigners, all saving the planet.

Ironically Jeremy was telling everybody how he was going to tax the rich to give to the poor and everybody cheered. This to a crowd who had paid a minimum of £300 a head to be there (and by definition hardly poor) to see the so-called celebrities , few of whom live in UK and would not be paying the taxes anyway.
Oh the irony!!!

Jezzer will prostitute himself anywhere anytime. Funny thing is he may actually be damaging his cause. I reckon a lot of people voted anti Tory as a protest vote over the appalling campaign in the knowledge, wrongly as it turns out, that the Tories would romp home anyway. But the more he promotes anti democratic rage and demos the more he may show his true colours and force the floating voters back to the Tories, fearing he might actually win. God help us if he ever does.

Mrs K missed a trick there. If she'd agreed to get into bed with the Tories she would now be in a strong position to press her own agenda - God help us all, I'll settle for the DUP !!

She will presumably be complaining about the extra cash to Northern Ireland, I wonder if she realises that with independence any extra cash will have to come from Holyrood rather than Westminster. .

Anyone know why sterling has gained ground against every single currency today except for the Euro and its acolytes, surely they can't all be expecting a share of the Google fine!! :sarcasm:

Possibly because May has done the deal giving her a commons majority (in the mean time)

Interesting for Jezzer to note that when his arrival to Downing Street appears to be postponed (or even better cancelled) the pound rises.

Nearly choked on my cornflakes this morning when I heard someone on the news (sorry missed his name) claiming that UK energy customers had been saved money by EU rules on the environment.

Has he not noticed the increase in bills directly attributed to "green energy charges" and the high cost of green energy because of the subsidy to wind turbines whether they're actually producing electricity or not?

I notice that Sterling has just about recovered the losses it made after Jezzer's election victory, oh sorry he lost didn't he.

I'm sure that there are political forums which may be more suitable towny. 99% political posts on a cruise forum? Just saying ;)

However this is the current affairs thread, there are plenty of other cruise related threads to choose from, or even contribute to.

Please note that this is not a political post, well maybe a little bit. However the above statement is only a half truth, and has been drip fed via the big six energy companies. Yes we signed up to an EU agreement for greener energy, but we had before that at Keyoto, signed up to a world agreement ( yes I know USA, China, India didn`t). The actual cost to us punters has been 6p in the pound, where as the cost of decommissioning Sellafield has risen, back in 2011 I know the figure was 26p in the pound that we spend on energy, and the latest available figures I saw currently stands at £117billion. Wind and PV is currently 25% cheaper to produce energy than fossil fuel and nuclear mix and remember the build cost of Hinkley will be added to your bill.
However, I would like to hear from Gov UK they are going to kick the French energy companies into touch as they have fifty six of their employees advising Gov UK in Whitehall and set our own energy policies in a environmentally way that's good for our country and not a bunch of European energy giants, but I certainly wouldn't trust team Corbyn to achieve that! If we do happen ( God forbid ) to stay in the EU we are in for a huge fine for not achieving our set emissions target by 2020, sorry I cant remember the figure but its massive! Roll on 2019 I say.
