Well I was reliably informed by a nice lady in Sainsbury's today that their Christmas stuff starts coming into the shop on the 3rd September 😃 I've just looked and Asda are selling mince pies too eeeeek!

Madness.
But why people keep buying early the shops will never change.

I suppose you are right - we cannot really blame the shops as they are simply responding to demand. As long as Lisa and Spuddy are out there in June buying up Christmas stock, there is no hope !!

It's quite ridiculous - and so unnecessary. But, as you say, people are buying them so we only have ourselves to blame (well, not me, of course, but you get the drift !)

Bear in mind that some people have to buy Christmas cards early if they need to send them overseas along with Christmas presents - especially if you are using surface mail.

Also bear in mind those of us who go away for Xmas so not only do we have to be organised with cards/presents we also have to find the time to deliver them ( family do not live local ) and in between be thinking about packing and 1001 other things

Absolutely Jo. I'm going to try to sort out Christmas presents when we get back from our jaunt on Braemar, early September. We've never been away for as long as we will be on our Aurora cruise next January and I've got that to think about too. It's not what clothes to take - although that as well - but all the other stuff, things at home, like bills etc. I certainly don't need to be buying Christmas presents in November/December. Might look at Christmas cards if they're on sale.

We men can apparently manage to do all our Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. Why do you ladies have such difficulty? :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

For our Dorset viewers may I recommend ' Bailey Ridge ' for your trees and / or one's comic reindeer, the proceeds of which go to a children's charity.

Apart from that write me off as a one day shopper and them pop me into the Bar Humbug camp.

Well Merv your Christmas shopping probably consists of what you buy Trish .. so yes if all us ladies only had to think about one present/card we'd probably be doing the same as all you guys and popping into town on Christmas eve :sarcasm: :sarcasm:
