Mind you he's like the rest of us really. Enjoys a good moan. I bet the Beeb turned down his compo claim....

After watching Gurinder Chadha's biased account of Indian partition night, can you blame me for feeling that the Beeb just wants to re-write history to suit it's left wing agenda; they managed to heap the blame on Churchill despite Labour being in power at the time.

Now you see Towny there's a simple answer here. I didn't like Calamity, so we won't ever us it again. Other cruise lines are available.

You don't like the BBC. But you will persist in torturing yourself. Other broadcasters are available!

Yes, but, Calamity don't force you to pay for a cruise if you don't go, however I have to pay the TV License if I possess a TV, so being a Yorkshire man I like to get my moneys worth!! ;)

So you are saying advertising is bad, and should not be allowed? If so ITV and all the other media that relies on it would go out of business, ergo we would be left with only the BBC to provide us with their left wing news?
I think I prefer adverts and the status quo then Merv.

Not saying that at all - merely pointing out that the argument that we all pay for the BBC, watch it or not, applies equally to ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and indeed any UK media that carries advertising. In fact they're worse. Even if you're over 75 (BBC = free) or have no TV at all you still pay for ITV etc. Like it or not it's the diversity of funding that makes UK media what it is.

But probably time to call a truce Towny. We're boring people and neither of us will change our minds.
