Where would we be without the internet.
With winter rapidly on its way, the availability of the internet becomes a tad more important, particularly for we retirees. It fills the odd gaps in the days when we have inclement weather, it allows us to to fully contribute in the running of our community facilities (the heating systems can be controlled from home, or on a cruise for that matter). We can stay in regular contact with friends and family. Friends who have lost their partners say how much it can enhance their lives.
Yes, warts and all,I wonder how we would be without it.

Agree - now we've got it, it would be difficult to do without but we all managed just fine 20 years ago so it's a case of "what you've never had, you never miss" !

There's always the telly if you don't mind watching the same stuff over and over again.

I think the internet, properly used, is a wonderful tool.
Abused or over used it's dreadful.

No you don't.
There's plenty of regular TV cr*p without adding the net to it.
