Actually I didn't spot it until they screened the ' digitalised freeze frame shot ' to show that it was offside, the linesman must have incredible eyesight is he could see it.oldbluefox wrote: 20 Aug 2017, 19:01Sounds like you've just been to SpecsaversManoverboard wrote: 20 Aug 2017, 18:39Rubbish .... deffo offside, I could see virtually all of his right boot![]()

Here's a bit of fun - calculate your Premier League transfer value:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/201 ... generator/
Apparently, I'm worth £140.23 - Arsenal here I come !

We were lucky to get a draw against towny's lot. We were dreadful in the first half and little better in the second. If they continue playing as they did against us for the rest of the season the Terriers will surprise a good many teams. Well organised, energetic and a good modicum of skill, Wagner has built a good team.
We need to buck our ideas up although we do have one or two out with injuries but that's no excuse.
It could have been worse - just ask Mob.

I just watched the Sky highlights, 28 minutes rather than MODs 5 mins if we are lucky. I think the penalty decision was correct, but Lowe did not need to do it King was going no-where, and if Lossl had stood still he would have saved Vardy's spot kick, sooner or later PL goalies are going to rumble Vardy's technique, and cover the middle of the goal.oldbluefox wrote: 17 Sep 2017, 21:25We were lucky to get a draw against towny's lot. I can understand why Kachunga's goal was chalked off, only in slow-mo could you see that he was onside, but he and the defender going fast past each other would have fooled most linesmen.
However we should have won and unless we start putting away more of the chances we create, then we might live to regret it come the end of the season, but we certainly played some good football.

Well done the Shots.
Do keep those pesky Dover, Maidstone, Bromley and Ebbsfleet in their place.
We've relished being the only football league team in Kent for years.
We have no rivals

YAAAY !!!!
Gills have at last sacked Ade Pennock by 'mutual consent'
Excellent ex-player but pretty useless as a manager.
Onwards and upwards hopefully.
The Renaissance starts today.
We are going up as Champions

We wuz robbed .... two of their goals were offside and we should have been awarded a penaltyoldbluefox wrote: 17 Sep 2017, 21:25We were lucky to get a draw against towny's lot. Losing 1:4 would have been entirely acceptable, indeed fair against such a talented team

Excuse me whilst I enjoy Wales exit from the World Cup
They won't be looking so chirpy this morning.
Nice to see Iceland doing so well again and great celebrations at their place.

Re: Football Thread 2017/18
When you are struggling, things always seem to go against you.
We were absolutely awful Sunday and really deserved nil but ... somehow we managed to have a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside.
We thought it looked a dodgy decision at the time, but watching back, the Gills player was not offside, so the goal should have stood and we would have got a point.

Amazing how many times the linesmen get offside decisions wrong. True, if you're down on your luck the decisions always go against you.
