Dark over Bill's Mother's this morning. But brightened up with our Sunday lunch reunion of the lovely peeps we met on our QM2 cruise last year.

Tell me about it. Doesn't look much piled in the trailer. Different once it's off loaded on the drive.

I do hope you have a CO2 scrubber and particulate filter attached to your wood burning stove Stephen. 8-)

Our logs are dry and three years old ... so they burn cleaner than your dirty old diesel powered car

Not old but probably dirty as you say Moby, I was one of the many millions conned by Gordon Brown into buying diesel because it was better for the environment.
However your logs do produce CO2 whether wet or dry, so I hope you have a carbon capture device fitted to your log burner as well. ;)

Actually that is a tad misleading.

It is deffo correct to advise that CO2 will always be produced by burning logs but the worst offenders by far are the wet ones and those folk who round up woody bits in their locality and put them straight onto the fire as they will reduce the temperature that the fire should ideally reach. A well maintained ( ours ) wood / multi-fuel burner ( ours ) burning dry logs ( ours ) is not an issue ... albeit it may well be a contributor in them thar major polluted cities.

ps ... I was unable to fit a cat-a-lickit converter to my chimney due to my fear of heights.

25% of London's pollution caused by wood burners I read today. Shocking. All that smog drifting in from Essex and Dorset.

To save a trip to the tip, I find if you mix your wet grass cuttings with the green logs and damp coal that gets a good old head of pollution going out the pot.
