But we were told the point of Brexit was to protect and enhance British culture. Obviously yet another untruth.
What?!!!! Are you making this up as you go along? Mind you, some of the rubbish I hear from the media, Soubry & co, Remoaners and doom mongers nothing surprises me from them any more. Some just pick out any bad news they can find and tag Brexit onto it.
As far as I'm concerned the sooner we cut ties with the EU, deal or no deal, the better instead of pandering to all and sundry.
So what was the point then?

The point was to leave the EU and be done with all its federal legislation so that westminster would once again be fully responsible for the UK.
If we achieve that I will be happy even if we have 14 years of slow growth and wage stagnation, as predicted by some organisation that is probably so far left that it considers Corbyn to be too right wing; when will the BBC stop trawling their news from only left leaning organisations.

No !!!!

The point is that the UK won't be hosting the European Capital of Culture in 2023.

Had I know this I may have voted to ' Remain ', apart from that what else is there to do in Dundee ?
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

"The sovereignty of Parliament is a fundamental principle of the UK constitution. Whilst
Parliament has remained sovereign throughout our membership of the EU, it has not always
felt like that" [Government white paper Feb 2017]

So Brexit is just about a feeling then?

Ever wondered why we HAVE to be out before April 2019?
It has nothing whatsoever to do with this? https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/b ... rective_en

As you go on holiday on a ship owned by someone else I assume you are not one of the super rich whose whole life is a holiday partly spent on their own ship. Therefore you are one of the people who will lose out, not for 14 years, you (we) will be forever 14 years behind the rest of the world, at best.
Make no mistake, Brexit was engineered by people who have no care for you or I, just how they can make themselves even richer and more powerful at our expense.
(and to save you time, I am a leftie just as much as Clarke/Hesletine...)

There's lots more, all provable with documentary evidence, though at present they would just get your above response.

Perhaps the government is slowly giving away all these 'snipets' to ease you guys into the idea Brexit was all a big mistake. Or maybe it's just because the truth will out.

How can I be wrong? The Pound is down, our aerospace industry is being trashed, banking is packing, pharmaceuticals are on their way, cancer patients are very worried, nuclear is in trouble and we could have war on the Irish border. But I guess with Brexit tinted specs everything is wonderful?

What would you suggest? Breitbart and Westmonster perhaps?

BTW That's not a 'report' from the European Commission, it's just fact. Hence this government has to avoid it by leaving. Can't have the billionaires and international conglomerates paying their proper taxes now can we?

Jack, if you actually believe that multi nationals are going to be worried about a little bit of make believe legislation by the EU, then you really should consider seeing a therapist.

Of course they are not worried. They will just move their money elsewhere. It is our Conservative politicians who are worried.

Methinks thou jest Jack, the MN's need a domicile in the EU to launder their EU earnings, once we leave the UK is of no real interest to them, except for their UK earnings. So in reality the, Conservative politicians would have been better off staying in the EU and trying to pinch MN's from Luxembourg and Ireland.
If you are wanting to start a conspiracy theory this one won't wash.

I lost the plot and almost the will to live well before the end of the first paragraph, if you are reading and absorbing all this rubbish Jack you must be suffering from chronic indigestion due to information overload.

I must admit I started reading it and gave up when I realised it was just a load of claptrap which had little relevance to the real issues.

Yes, I thought that too. But it was written by a leading Quitling and published on Conservative Home. Can't get more pro Brexit than that.
