Website Problems
I have a technical problem that I've had once before and managed, with some help, to resolve. However, this time I can't fix it.
When going on the Cunard website I'm now automatically directed to the US site, with pricing in dollars, and I cannot get it to revert to the UK site. Have tried changing my IP address and clearing cache/cookies, neither of which have worked. I've been onto my internet provider (Plusnet, whose customer support is pretty good), and they have never come across it before, and can't suggest anything else. Incidentally, the same seems to be happening with any other website with a presence in the US (eg Monsoon).
Anyone got any idiot-proof (and when it comes to IT, I'm a complete eejit) ideas, please?

Very many thanks, but I'm afraid that takes me straight to the US site.

Re: Website Problems
The most common reason for a website directing you to another country is because it is detecting that your IP address is not in the UK.
I have just checked your current IP address and it is saying that you are in El Segundo, California.
This is definitely an Internet provider's problem as I have no idea why they are routing you via the USA - unless you are actually over there at the moment!

Many thanks, David. However, when I checked my IP address, it shows as London UK. Plusnet checked as well, with the same result.
How weird. I'm certainly not in the US.

Re: Website Problems
Very many thanks again, David. I delved a little deeper into things, and discovered that you were correct and I was basking in sunny California instead of freezing to death in East Anglia.
In case it's ever useful to anyone else, the solution was to get a static IP from Plusnet. They tried to charge me £5, but I declined their kind offer and in the end got operator number 2 to sort it out. Operator No. 1 said he had done it and hadn't...
