How small is yours ... ( Turkey ) ?

Unread post by Onelife »

If its as small as mine then you have probably opted for a crown of Turkey? Weighing in at 8lbs there should be enough for a few curries during the colder months. Turkey isn't my favorite meat so l shall be cooking a joint of topside beef for the festive occasion as well.

So will it be a small or large come Christmas day?

Ho Ho Ho ....Happy Christmas

I have bought a large beef joint from M&S as we are not over keen on turkey. There will only be us two for Christmas Day and I only eat a few slices of meat so not sure why I bought such a large joint. We go to our son's house on Boxing Day so the leftover beef will have to be used up some other time. Why do we buy so much food for Christmas because we are usually sick of it within a few days and then all I want is a nice plate of beans on toast. I always feel like that after all the food on a cruise and really look forward to something plain and simple.

I'm not keen on turkey either, not that we could ever afford one, so have opted for a tin of spam. Just hope there's a tin of use by date left last thing Christmas eve.

We are at our daughter’s this year so I have no idea what she is cooking nor what size.

If at home, I would normally buy a three bird roast for my husband, and anyone else with us, while I have an M&S Almond, Pecan and Butternut Nut Roast, which is absolutely delicious and better than any I have made myself.

we have a 8.5lb (ish) turkey crown.

The leftovers will be frozen for several meals in the new year

Small turkey crown for us. But the highlight of our Christmas lunch is the fabulous home made stuffing Trish creates. Don't know why we still call it stuffing because it gets cooked separately. But it's a meal in itself.
