Silver Shiney's Last Cruise

Unread post by Silver_Shiney »

This is Mrs Shiney. I have recently read through the messages of condolence and sympathy posted on this forum after Alan's sudden death last April, thank you all so much.
In less than 2 weeks I will be going on a 4 night cruise on the Oceana with my daughter (Welshynurse) her Other Half and my 2 year old granddaughter. At some point during the trip we are committing Alan's ashes to the sea, Silver Shiney's Last Cruise.
I hope to.join this forum soon as Mrs Shiney.
Alan

I hope your short trip goes according to plan. It isn’t going to be easy, I’m sure, but you’ll be doing what you have to do.

Sincere condolences from me and welcome to the forum, when you feel able to join in.

Welcome aboard Mrs Shiney - can't tell you how much I miss the banter with "Shiney boy" as I used to call him - he is really missed on the forum. I am so sorry for your loss but pleased to know that you are carrying out Alan's wishes - I know how much he enjoyed his cruises. My late husband and I loved our cruises and I remember well the first cruise I went on after my husband passed away - I found it difficult but 11 years later I am still cruising - sometimes with my son and family (he has the bug now) and sometimes with friends. Take care and bon voyage xxx

I would like to wish you and your family best wishes for your coming cruise, I'm sure it will have difficult times but think of all the happy memories you have of previous cruises. What your doing I think is wonderful

That's strange - I was only thinking of Silver Shiney a few days ago when I answered a question by welshynurse and remembered the connection. He contributed such a lot to the forum and I miss his input.

I think scattering his ashes from a cruise ship is a lovely idea. Enjoy your cruise with your family and I look forward to seeing you on the forum in the near future. Best wishes, Maureen.
