Doing anything on Red Nose Day?
I'll be paying a couple of quid to dress down at work tomorrow and some of the ladies will be bringing cakes in to sell. There'll be nothing overly dramatic, no baths of custard or head shaves, but we'll probably raise a couple of hundred quid during the day. Are any of you joining in?

Re: Doing anything on Red Nose Day?
IMO, red nose day is really only subscribed to by the BBC, in the main. Hardly gets noticed otherwise.
I'll be in the pub for a tea-time session and will drop a quid into the tin of anyone that may be collecting, but it's not a charity of choice for me.

It's not really my charity of choice either Romig, but like you I'll put money in a tin at some point tomorrow for sure.

I might drop a few pence into a tin if I see one rattling while I'm out tomorrow.....but I don't really do Comedy Relief. I prefer to concentrate all my donations to Children in Need where people from the UK benefit and don't have to share it with bloody Africa.

Early finish at work, and to the pub with my friends. The landlady is Victor Meldrew's twin sister, therefore Red Nose Day will not be happening.

As for Red Nose Day nothing really happening around here - like all of you will pop something in a box if shaken near me.
DIL is nearly 35 weeks and for twins that is good, last estimate the boy is over 5lbs and the girl is over 4lbs. DIL is tiny and has gained less than a stone in weight.
Thank you Jenni

I think you are getting your Sainsbury's and your Tesco slogan mixed up a little there MOB !Manoverboard wrote:I will put my 50p Parking refund into the Red Nose Box at Sainsbugs tomorrow and that is it .... pathetic basically but every little helps I dare say
For me - working as usual (can't tell any difference whether I dress "down" or "normally") then dash home to get stuck into my household chores whilst Mrs C recovers from her hip hop.
No time for Comic Relief shenanigans - sorry !

Re: Doing anything on Red Nose Day?
Like most of you red nose day is a non event, in fact for me rather an extended BBC bore period. I am unlikely to be out and about today so probably won't have any sort of tin or bucket waved near me.

aw, mate, I knew you were under the weather, I had no idea you had been admitted to hospital. I am really sorry to hear that.
I do hope you recover quickly to full health.

How on earth has your DIL managed to put on less than a stone? When my OH was having twins, one of each, she was ENORMOUS. She fell off a bus and the conductor had to help her get up - she was rolling about like a space hopper

Well, I'm back home, suitably soaked - but I have done my good deed. It would have been done today whether it was RND or not.
