London marathon
Our daughter is running her first full marathon in London today.
Her husband is there cheering her on.We are tracking her progress on the virgin app, she is now half way in 2 hrs. Keeping our fingers crossed for the second half.

Re: London marathon
I know exactly how you feel, as our second daughter has done seven. And each and every one was absolutely hideous - for us, not her!
Well done to your daughter for getting through it - and in a respectable time.

At about half way she seemed to stop for about 10 mins, my thoughts were all over the place hoping alll was going okay.
Last year it was the triathlon, with her swimming in the London docklands.
Do they know what they put us through !!

Re: London marathon
They obviously don’t.
My daughter was the same when she climbed Kilimanjaro. She refused to tell us which day she was setting off, then on her return simply said “well I’ve done it, I shan’t bother again” - after I had spent a week convinced she had died!
Kids!

Re: London marathon
yup - been there. JD has done it a number of times:
During one RTW we didn't hear from her for 2 weeks and I had to email to ask if she was still alive... (but give her her due, on Gap year.com where she is a moderator she did mention this in the list of things for newbies to remember...)
When she did the marathon the tracker stops just before the finish and I couldn't find any info - was getting very worried until a friend who was actually there said she'd seen her.
The best one was on another RTW her blog mentioned she'd nearly drowned....

Re: London marathon
Had a phone call from our daughter this morning, she is okay. Sore legs etc and knackered.
Doesn't think she will do it next year. She said her running was fine it was the heat.
Glad she is safe and well, especially after hearing about the young man who collapsed during the race and subsequently died.
One relived mum
