Internet Surveys ?
Over a period of time I have continually viewed a number of sites.
One, for example, is ' The Watford Observer ' ( for the footy of course ) but sometimes when a page was chosen an ' Internet Survey ' would appear and prevent me reading that page. The survey contains a number of options to select else ' Skip ' to remove the survey and to reveal the blocked page.
Yesterday I entered my username & Password on the Sainsburys site but in spite of attempting to Logon one of these surveys popped up and required a response before allowing the Logon to proceed. I assume the same thing could happen on this site.
Point is ... are these Surveys harmless or are they Tracker Cookies / Password stealers in disguise.

No
If they are anything like the ones that I have seen then do not go anywhere near them - as a minimum they are after your email address so that you can be inundated with invitations to buy all manner of things that you never knew that you need, nor probably even knew existed.Manoverboard wrote: 11 May 2018, 08:14are these Surveys harmless or are they Tracker Cookies / Password stealers in disguise.

Oh dear … so how does one get rid of it ?
You advise that one of these rascals cannot affect this site … should I therefore ask Sainsbugs why they have one ?

Re: Internet Surveys ?
A good Internet protection program should tell it where to go
It is possible that Sainsbugs have added it themselves, or at least know about it, as they will, in all probability, receive some recompense from whoever it is. It is basically a marketing ploy to get your details. In fact this is one of the types of thing that GDPR should stop - but I am not holding my breath!
I sincerely hope not

Re: Internet Surveys ?
To cut a long story short .....
Do you remember those little shapes with numbers and letters in it which one had to copy ?
Of course you do, well the updated version is a frame of images and one now has to select / tick all those images that contain a bus or a car or a street sign etc. Then one needs to press ' Verify ', pressing ' Skip ' will not make it go away.
The nice man at Sainsbugs says that these are used in many sites including Sainsbugs but that I was chosen at random but that it will not go away unless or until I complete the puzzle correctly.
In an attempt to fool it I created a second Online Groceries Account and was able to purchase some shopping without the Puzzle appearing but it came back when I tried to Logon again.
It seems therefore that it knows my computer's id and the puzzle checks that it is me rather than a naughty person up to no good … or some such similar nonsense.
