Bloody hell! I agree with Moby and Barney!
I think Moby and I are looking at the same situation, just from different sides.
Barney: May could be quite safe, because everyone is afraid of who might replace her and she can survive without a credible opposition.
I rather think that Corbyns position is the most tenuous atm. It would not take much for a leadership challenge.
At this point the Conservatives have to decide to stick with May (who, lets face it, would crumble against serious opposition) or get in someone better.
We can argue about numbers in another post as I don't want to wreck this current mood of agreement, but the numbers are there and politicians like votes, they will be chasing them. A new party would be wonderful, but I doubt that will happen in time. Labour with a new Remain leader could be highly electable however.

Of course taxes will pay for it and rightly so.
It's just what tax !

I'd personally recommend putting aside a sizable amount of the ring-fenced Foreign Aid budget, currently circa £17 billion per annum.
Keep £7 billion back for aid, prioritising the British Overseas Territories and allocate the additional £10 billion to the NHS.
Problem solved for now !

of people who think the the government is being dishonest about NHS funding. (31% honest).

There was me thinking it was circa £13.4 billion (2016).
The government has a legal duty to meet the 0.7% target of Gross National Income. So your wish of reducing foreign aid after Brexit looks likely to happen.

And gave up. Just as everyone expected he would.

I'd have a wager that the six 'rebels' voted for the amendment because they calculated that the government would still win and they could save a bit of face.
Six Tory rebels = huge story - Four Labour rebels = no mention

So, the real difference was just two votes.

Airbus concern seemed to be lack of progress and certainty. I'd blame that on the Lords and others sabotaging the process rather than the negotiators

Merv is right but it would cost millions to remove Airbus from UK. The truth is that the EU needs a deal with us just as much as we need one with them. It does not help that the Lords and others are doing everything in their power to obstruct progress.
The other day I was watching a very interesting YouTube clip showing Tony Benn's attitude towards Brexit. His views were quite enlightening in the light of what has happened since.

What will your position be should we fall out without an agreement, with the economy and jobs taking a massive hit. Will it be worth it because we have "taken back control"?

They already build Tailplane sections in China...Good EU company,BTW, I understood the UK was in partnership with Germany.France and Spain.Not just a Sub Contractor..?

To be fair they have never mentioned pulling out just about future investment. That's a business choice they have to make in or out of the EU. The same with BMW. Ford moved to Spain and Poland while we were in the EU. More smoke and mirrors.

I was reading this morning that Airbus is built as a consequence of the know how and manufacturing skills of many Countries including the USA, I didn't know that. EU Countries ' to be ' make nothing of note regarding engines ... just saying.
