Re: Football Thread 2017/18
How can anybody expect ANY team to run around at 100 miles per hour in the second half at 5:0 up when the temperature was in the 30s … dear oh dear oh dear

Quite easily when you are as fit as they are/should be. And thousands of £££££££ a week helps as well.

I can't believe that we've got this far to be honest.
I think we have a decent chance tonight but France in the final is a whole other matter.
As someone who is well used to constant disappointment interspersed with the odd moment of joy, I'm loving this tournament.
Shame when it's over.

To be honest barney this is the only time I take any interest in football, and only then if England are doing well.

Yep, they done us proud getting this far. Croatia were just too good. They were all over us, epescially in the second half. They're passing and stamina was excellent.
England can come home holding they're heads high. Well done everyone

We had the chances in the first half to extend our lead. On the night the better team won but a great performance nonetheless.

They did their best and that is all we can ask, they will hopefully grow as a team and no longer be the laughing stock that has been the case for too many years.

ps … I see Mahres has finally signed for Man City

Like all footie matches the debate afterwards is all about "what ifs", so a great pity we did not not convert our first half dominance into more goals, I really did feel that Sterling's pace, especially against two fairly slow central defenders, would allow him to grab the goal that his overall performances deserved.

Wil we be fielding the first team or the second string on Saturday I wonder, ditto the Belgians ?
If the latter then I for one will not bother to watch it.
