Just watch a documentary on catch up on the Ivy restaurant in London. Can't see what all the fuss is about apart from their prices.

Anyone on here been there?

We're not those people who turn off our central heating on 1st April and back on on 1st November. We leave it to the thermostat to sort it out. And this afternoon it turned it on for the first time in months.

I think it might be a loose connection but can't really see - happened a few years ago - probably simple job for plumber - well I'm hoping so

Hopefully not too much water damage Jan . I suppose one consolation, you were at home and not on a cruise.

Can't think of anything worse than coming home to a flooded house.

Could be a good idea for others to check any pipe fittings before going away. We had a couple of similar things happen. A plastic joint pipe under the cloakroom basin hadn't been glued and eventually started leaking. Another time a plastic waste pipe under the kitchen had been leaking over time. Fortunately not a great deal and just needed tightening.

The thing with some plumbers they rush rush rush to get the job done and miss small things like making sure all connections are water tight, which if not checked can later have serious consequences.

Any sort of "event" can be bad news, when we came home from a cruise to find out we'd been burgled was very unsettling 😭 to know that some one has been through your home was a very strange feeling😖

Plumber has been - blockage in main pipe. Needs cleaning out - guy coming this afternoon to sort it out. It is absolutely "persisting" down here so poor man is going to get soaked - apparently they jet wash it these days - bit nervous but has to be done :(
