We know about half of them. But they do seem to use the word celebrity in the widest possible sense! But then we're not hip and happening so what would we know?

I would 'for a change' like to see the format change from that of celebs to that of random people from all walks of life.

Re: Strictly 2018
the problem with that is it would turn into another X factor style show with all the associated sob stories that go with it. With the celebs?, we do at least get to judge the dancing more than the personalities at least until it arrives at the final 8 or 9 left. I just wish that they were more inventive than news readers (bbc!) and minor stars. but I suppose there are many factors at work that would prevent the big stars wanting to do it.Onelife wrote: 09 Sep 2018, 08:32I would 'for a change' like to see the format change from that of celebs to that of random people from all walks of life.

Re: Strictly 2018
I'm not the only one then although I do know that woman who's dancing with Anton. It's what's her name!!!
Tbh I've given up on the new format X Factor. I don't like the new judges, I don;t like the new format and I miss seeing the hopefuls and the hopeless. Neither am I interested in any of their bad luck sob stories or what their dogs had for dinner. And some of those they rave about make a right row in my book!! Thank goodness for catch up.

You could well be right but as far as l can tell Simon Cowell isn't part of the production team which dose give some hope that it wouldn't go down the sob story line.
Like Stephen, l hardly know any of this year's line up which takes the shine off it a bit for me......l would go a little further and say... "from what l have seen" a few of them look a bit false.
Naah!.....l would quite like to see 'Billy' the chip shop fryer, Sally the shop floor worker or even 'Stephen' the pot bellied geezer from down Souf strutting there stuff.....even if it were just for a one off.
Regards
Keith

I don't normally place a bet before having seen the form but l'm making an exception this year... l'll be having my tenner on Vicki Hope as she looks to have a nice firm backside, nice teeth and seems well in at the weights...Shes curently trading at 100/30.

A general public version wouldn't appeal to me for a series. Okay for a one off though

Re: Strictly 2018
I must be some sort of saddo, since I reckon I have heard of about half the contestants.
Kate S, the BBC news reader, Charles Venn from Casualty, Susannah Constantine from Trinny and Susannah, Lauren Steadman the Paralympian, Ashley Roberts although only because I have heard of the pusseycat dolls, Graeme Swann the cricketer, Danny John-Jules from Red Dwarf and death in paradise and Katie Piper the acid attack victim.
Not A listers but then they rarely are, but much better than 18 nondescript members of the unwashed great British public.

When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear

Keith, surely the only version of that song worth remembering is the Bee Gees.Onelife wrote: 11 Sep 2018, 09:55Hi townytowny44 wrote: 10 Sep 2018, 22:52I must be some sort of saddo, since I reckon I have heard of about half the contestants.

Re: Strictly 2018
We thought that it was quite a good mix.
You never really know how they will pan out but given what we've seen, that young DJ girl looks a bit of a mover.
She's been paired with the new Italian guy with the hair.
How much does he love himself.
Mind you , when I had a body like that, I did as well.

Re: Strictly 2018
Well l don't know about you but l think this year's contestants are the best l've ever seen on strictly
...that being said l think Anton deserves a break .....it couldn't have been much fun having to lug a sack of spuds around with him.
l'm a little pee'd off having taken 100/30 about Vick Hope as l can now get 9/1
....still in there with a shout but having eyed up the form l think she willbe lucky to get placed at best.
Not sure who will be out next week but Darcey Bussell's hair stylist must be on the short list......talk about bad hair days.
