Interesting to read that Ryanair are now putting a Brexit clause into all tickets sold after March 2019 stating that if the plane doesn't fly because of Brexit, they will refund.
I expect others will now follow suit.

This is a genuine piece of UK leverage, that has slightly backfired on the EU, just like the Irish border and no passporting rights for financial services
Over five thousand flights enter and leave the UK daily.
They are starting to smell the coffee but most are still in denial.
I'm amazed European tourist boards are not more vocal.

I think that the penny is also starting to drop in Ireland that they are being hung out to dry by the EU.

Remember what Juncker & Barnier were saying at the begining ?

Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.
The clock is ticking.

Well, tick tock, tick tock.

For it to pass all have to sign up. If Malta and/or Spain don't sign, Britain is crushed. We crash out with no trade deals
And so do the EU

I'm not sure where the expression "crash out" comes from. It means leave.
I don't think you have grasped he situation.
The EU will lose trade with us too, yes. But they still have the EU trade deals with all the various countries around the world.
We will not.
We will have nothing. NOTHING.

Leave (crash out) means isolation.

Yeah, but not in or out of the UK without agreement.
They can fly within the EU.
Maybe we should look at over flying UK airspace ?
Maybe we should look at a tariff for using UK roads to get to the mainland of Europe.
But then that would be irrelevant because there will be hundreds of miles of tail backs because the tunnel is cemented up.

All of those continental exporters who rely so heavily on UK imorts will have to find new markets for their perishables.
Maybe Albania will buy a load of Spanish oranges.
Maybe Serbia will decide to have a massive influx of 30K BMWs
Maybe Kosovans will all be driving new Mercs this time next year.
Bulgarians will be staggering around because of all of the Champagne they have had to drink.
Malta will absolutely stink of French cheese.

Meanwhile, back home, we will be digging up our manicured lawns to plant spuds and living of bread and dripping
No, hang on !
No dripping as we cannot get the Irish beef over. :o
That is the Irish beef that constitutes over 80% over their beef production.
Maybe Luxemborg will buy more beef from Ireland.

Personally I'd rather walk that ever get on one of this guys planes.

We voted through wisdom and just happened to be on the winning side …. fortunately another 17,000,000 folk had the same wisdom and thought the same way as we did.

In life it is always a better experience to be a part of the winning team.

Some, on the other hand, just love to wallow in self pity or enjoy being a loser.

I do not believe for a single moment that we will all be losers, some certainly but not all and by some margin ... and being able to say " told you so " from either camp would be both pathetic and wholly unnecessary.

We won't all be losers no, Rees-Mogg will be fine.

I wonder if I should be worried about our April Med cruise on Aurora, will it take place, will we have to queue for hours to disembark and then re-board. If we can get ashore will we be able to afford a coffee and beer if Sterling has collapsed completely. Will remain voters be treated differently to leave voters by the the locals etc etc etc. :sarcasm: :moresarcasm:

Sorry John, can't say, however, there is talk in certain circles that UK cruise ships will have to pay a levy to Spain to transit the Straights of Gibralter, about the same cost as transiting the Panama Canal I believe. The basis for this is the loss of income from British tourists resulting from a hard Brexit. You win some you lose some :?:
Oh and any British tourist making it to Spain will be given a "johnny extranjero" badge

Would be a good idea to have some kind of agreement between countries, so that this sort of nonsense wasn't required.

Tick tock Mr Varadkar .

The DUP has publicly announced that annexing NI is the redist of red lines so it's your bucket and your hole.
You fix it !

Some lady from the TUC was saying yesterday, how will the UK stop EU nationals entering into Ireland and then just crossing the border into NI, and then on to the UK.
How did such a halfwit ever get into such a position?

No one wants to stop anyone from coming here.
We want to stop them automatically having the right to settle and work, without permission.
Sort of operating like the rest of the world.

I read an interesting piece by a Belgian who has just taken British citizenship, post Brexit.
Not the sort of thing you'd expect to see on the very pro EU Politico EU.
