On Saturday night I broke the winding handle off my watch, a plain calendar Gold coloured Oyster faced Accurist with a leather strap.
After browsing for a replacement I placed an order on Amazon at 16:43 on Sunday, a very similar watch but this time a Sekonda, the order stated it would be delivered on 1st Nov (Thursday) which was fine with me, this morning the dispatch note said it would be here on Tuesday, which was even better, this afternoon the courier delivered it.
All this service and for under £25, just need to persuade them to pay a fair tax rate now.

Hi John......its hard to fault these online distributors especially where out of the ordinary items are required

Talking of Amazon Prime John, and it might be useful info for anyone else. I went to cancel Mrs S free trial of Amazon Prime online just now before she started to get charged and got offered another 30 days FREE. And of course, with FREE being my favourite word how could I refuse.

Agree. But not me John, it's Mrs S's account. I told her to make a note of the date to cancel. It's down to her if she forgets.

I fell into that trap with a 'Which' free trial.

If you have a lot of deliveries it is possible to have a full year of Prime's next day … albeit for £70+ but no big deal if moving house for example.

You are not wrong there … I tripped up, got my delivery the following day and then instantly cancelled my Prime Account.

Don't know if anyone else knows about this but if you have a Kindle then you can link your Kindle account with another person's Kindle account (ostensibly to share books) and a side effect of this is that if one of the account holders subscribes to Amazon Prime then the other person gets Amazon Prime for free.

I made a similar mistake about 2 years ago, but after cancelling the following day, Amazon said I would still retain my Prime access to the end of the month. But since I never bought anything during that month it never mattered.
