Chances are however that the Commercial type Broadcasters are far more efficient than the BBC cos they, unlike the BBC, have to earn their money.

And most other countries manage without levying a fee on their populace for a national broadcaster, which might think it is the envy of the World for providing fair news coverage, but we all know better.

You might think that. But they're not. They pay higher salaries for less output.Manoverboard wrote: 28 Nov 2018, 09:28Chances are however that the Commercial type Broadcasters are far more efficient than the BBC cos they, unlike the BBC, have to earn their money.
And do it secretly because they are not open to public scrutiny.

Wiki "Public broadcasting includes radio, television and other electronic media outlets whose primary mission is public service. In much of the world, funding comes from the government, especially via annual fees charged on receivers."towny44 wrote: 28 Nov 2018, 09:54Manoverboard wrote: 28 Nov 2018, 09:28Chances are however that the Commercial type Broadcasters are far more efficient than the BBC cos they, unlike the BBC, have to earn their money.![]()

For many many years I did genuinely believe that the BBC offered an unbiased / impartial News service, sadly that is no longer the way we feel at this point in time. It is also the case albeit for no obvious reason that we watch fewer BBC programs these days, having SKY helps I suppose as we can skip past all the adverts in the Commercial Stations.towny44 wrote: 28 Nov 2018, 09:54Manoverboard wrote: 28 Nov 2018, 09:28Chances are however that the Commercial type Broadcasters are far more efficient than the BBC cos they, unlike the BBC, have to earn their money.![]()
