Cutting Back

Unread post by karenandbob »

We have just bought a new car - Audi A3 Sports - so now unfortunately we are going to have to cut back on our cruises this year. We normally like to do 2 weeks in the summer to the med and then have a month over christmas and new year, but this year we will nly be doing 2 weeks over the New Year. Very sad to see my little Ford Focus go, had it for 8 years!! Roll on New Year and 2 weeks on Aura in the caribbean.

I have a couple of policies maturing over the next couple of months and, having seen the interest available at the bank, I am thinking of buying myself a new car ... not sure what though ... or if I even will spend the money.

We too are buying a new car! A Golf to replace the present seven year old one. We had a little "coming together" with a runaway car outside our Grandson's school. (the driver had failed to engage her hand break  ).
The damage was slight fortunately, and we went to the dealer to buy a new number plate. We left the showroom some time later having signed up for a new Mark 7! We take delivery in June. No cruise until next year!! Jay

Hi Jay,

Sorry to hear your news - but you just can't beat the feeling of being shown to your new car, handed a bouquet of flowers and luxuriating in that smell of 'new car'!.

Not long to June now - hope you've chosen a really lovely colour; and that you also enjoy your new car.

Em :D

Thanks Em. We had to go to another dealer in another town, to see the colour on a whole car! The "swatch thingy" they had was too small. Anyway it was worth the effort; the colour is Limestone Grey, exclusive, at the moment, to the Mark 7 Golf. Ooooh, wont we be posh  Jay

Yes indeed - that's a great colour. Have many happy and safe miles of motoring! (Including trips to Southampton, of course).

You'll have plenty of space for luggage - when we got a new car recently that was the first thing we checked!

Still waiting for our bus passes - can you choose the colour, I do like duck egg blue. Our new car is white - apparently that is the colour for this season!! So sad to see my Focus go, it was a lovely car to drive and quite nippy really.

Thank you all for your good wishes. Yes we also checked to make sure we could get all our luggaage in for when we cruise from Southampton. :P :P
