Yanited's Lukaku scored what looked like a good offside goal today. VAR would have been handy.

The Hornets had their first and only penalty over the Christmas period, I and the MOTD Team reckon there were others that were not awarded. We have had goals ruled out for wrong offside calls and been the victim of offside goals by the opposition. Overall I believe that we are 15 points adrift because of these errors.

Question is … are ALL teams in the Prem equally affected or do some suffer more than others ?

If it is ' the latter ' then VAR is needed to create a level playing field.

It does seem that when your team is struggling a bit, the decisions go against them.
That is no matter what division you are in.
At our level, some of the referees are quite obviously out of their depth whereas, most of the time in the Premier league, they appear to get it correct.

VAR should 100% be used at the top level because the stakes are SO high financially.

At least it keeps the 'Ornets playing catch up!!
Watched the match on Sky. There was the usual biased commentary but Cardiff posed a greater threat than the multi million pound parade on display in the Toffees team. It was a good solid performance from us today.

GILLS THE GIANT KILLERS !!!

Well, Cardiff City anyway

Man Utd away in the next round will do nicely #afewbob

Can't any of you Premier giants put in a decent bid for Blackburn's Bradley Dack.
We have a 15% sell on clause on that lad.
£25 million should buy him.
12 goals in 23 starts for Blackburn plus numerous assists.
I remember him making his debut back in 2012 and thinking that we have discovered another gem.
He'll end up in the Premier league, it's just where?

Well done the Gills.
Quite a few on our fan forums have mentioned Bradley but so far there has been no official link with him. That's not to say the hawks haven't been hovering but£25 million does sound a lot of money and a bit of a risk at that price.
We have Newport so brace yourself for another shock result!!!

Word is Southampton foxy. He's better than many midfielders in the Prem. Very little risk in my opinion.

It's always a gamble. We have half a team of players with international pedigree who cost us £25k+ and they are not up to the Prem - good Championship material at best. Glad it's not my money!!!
We bought Maddison from Norwich. He's a good player but he's had one or two mediocre matches so these young lads with great talent do need nurturing.

Why am I not surprised. We had the chances but with forwards who couldn't punch their way out of a paper bag it was always going to be tight. Newport fought and battled for every ball and deserved their win so well done to them and good luck in the next round.
As for us we need to realise our second string is not good enough and woe betide us if Vardy and Pereira get injured. The likes of Iheanacho and Okazaki are just off the pace and too slow.
Why do Prem managers think it's acceptable to put out below strength teams? It's disrespectful to their opponents and to those supporters on both sides who have paid good money to see 'star players'.

After the display some of them put in I'd be ashamed to pick up my pay. They need shipping out.

We are really hoping for one of the big boys Moby.

Watford at home to The Gills will hardly generate much income as we've played you a couple of years ago in the Pointless Cup.
If my memory is correct, one Bradley Dack got the winner.

Any of the big clubs away would be ideal.
Utd top the list as we have never played them to my knowledge.
We've played Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and City in recent years …. and lost them all !
It's all about the money for us.
We get £215K for reaching this round which is loose change to you guys but a lifeline for us.

Everyone happy with their draw.
We have the other Taff team but away this time.

Happy Moby ?
You could be facing Dack again, unless he's sold in the meantime.

Happy foxy ?
Happy towny ?

OOHHH! Sorry

We seem to play Newcastle in every competition every year but I rather suspect that Benitez is hoping to be dumped by Blackburn … fine by me either way. Relieved a tad that we didn't get Newport though, they do look formidable

It has been announced, on Sky TV, that David Wagner has left Huddersfield. It seems he was not sacked but rather that he resigned because he felt that he was totally out of his depth Managing in the Premier League.

Sorry to hear that news :(

It is a shame that Wagner has left. He has done well to get Huddersfield into the Prem but it is a big step up from the Championship, especially on limited resources and they could yo-yo between the two divisions for a few seasons. Whilst Burnley are struggling at the moment they were relegated and came back again under Dyche so it is possible.
Sad to see a manager who has achieved so much throwing in the towel (although you don't know what may have been going on backstage.......).

It's not been a good week at all. Football wise lets hope they can now relax and maybe begin to build up some confidence for next season.
