Sunny intervals but 8 degrees - just like it was in Iceland in July 2005
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

We have had several days in the lst two weeks or so, where we’ve sat in the conservatory with the doors wide open, yesterday included. It was positively hot in there.

We had friends over this morning/afternoon and didn't budge from the conservatory......We didn't actually get to open the doors but we did have to pull down a couple of blinds to keep the sun off the afternoon cream teaGillD46 wrote: 11 Feb 2019, 11:31We have had several days in the lst two weeks or so, where we’ve sat in the conservatory with the doors wide open, yesterday included. Was sunny and warm behind glass this morning. Blooming cold and cloudy now though. Never mind, we can't have it tropical all the time

Our new lounge is south facing and is basically a wall of glass. Today was really warm down here. 13c outside but the lounge was 22c. I have had electric velux windows installed in the apex roof to let heat out in the summer.

Re: Indian Winter?
Your extention sounds lovely Barney
Our house had been extended a couple of times prior to us moving in 18 months ago. One of the extentions was turning a double garage into a large south facing kitchen, which basically sold the house to us. Whilst extentions may not add a lot of value to your house (over and above the build cost ) they certainly add to the enjoyment factor which of course is priceless. I am considering purchasing a ceiling mounted air conditioning unit for summer cos it did get a bit stifling for the 'wife' last summer...not that l mind my wife toiling away in the heat of the kitchen it's just that she won't have any excuses for not serving my dinner on time if l get one installed.
Oh'...and the other extention is the 'tin can' which she makes me sleep in every night...Squeak! Squeak!

And to think that back in the autumn the forecasters were predicting an exceptionally harsh winter!

Yes, our mower was a bit reluctant to start. Surprising what some choice words and thrashing it with a stick can do though.

I've done two cuts already this winter and its still growing. Weird. I've been working on the shop fit today and was sweating like a P I G. It was really warm.

Just checked the thermometer, it’s 84 in our conservatory and that’s with the doors halfway open. My husband is cutting the lawns and it feels positively spring like. Lovely.
