Seems Watford have been ' investigated ' following incidents of transfer irregularities

Nothing to do with Mr Zola and the present owner but the previous owner, and cohorts, have been banned from Football for three years.

Seems they have escaped a fine and/or a 10 point deduction as none of the villains are presently working for the Club.

A round of applause is obviously called for

No joke, it certainly took me by surprise ...

http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/1 ... 20505.aspx

... it may also explain why we have so many players on loan ?

But onward and upwards as they say

We're not a yo-yo club for nothing. Elation, disappointment, it's a right rollercoaster ride - I'm addicted.

Just realised that I only have 2 home games left to attend. :o

4 games left at home, but I'm away for the Easter game , and ....the last match of the season!!!!

Hoping we don't need a result on the last game vs Barnsley.

As a destination San Marino has a lot going for it, as a Footy Team ... total rubbish

As one of the panel said they should play the Farao Islands, the IOW or maybe Huddersfield ;) rather than teams like England or Germany. That way they may at least get a goal or even a win once in a while.

I know its a long shot.....any Aldershot fans on the site? ;)

Was planning to go to Stoke today - Port Vale v Aldershot - but snow intervened with my plans!

Having an entire Saturday free now - I decided to investigate the "Football" thread - but having looked at 9 out of 45 pages, gave up on finding a fellow supporter! If there were sufficient football fans on here, we could have a heading for each team - then it would be easier to find.

But welcome to the footie thread anyhow.

Would that be Timbuktoo Athletic F C or Timbuktoo United F C

We went to Aldershot a couple of times on windy days and noted that if a corner, or indeed a cross, was not controlled the ball could go out of play, bounce down the steps and then roll on into the High Street ... does that still happen ?

ps ... and welcome from me too

Thanks for the welcome!!!

Its a good job I've developed a thick skin .... otherwise I might take offence

Yes - if a ball is booted out at the High Street end of the ground - it lands in the grassed area near the entrance - but I've never heard of a ball getting as far as the main road! Last week Burton players kicked the ball out over the South stand onto the railway line at least 4 times - they obviously dont appreciate the cost of replacements!

Not used to being home Saturday afternoons - soooo bored!! Perhaps I'll do some de-cluttering!

I was at Cambridge United in the late sixties for the visit of Scunthorpe (Kevin Keegan at number 10) and the ball went out onto the cabbage patches about 24 times.

Shrewsbury Town 's old ground, Gay Meadow was built next to the River Seven.....The club used to employ a bloke called Fred Davies who rescued footballs booted out of the ground from the river in his Coracle....Brilliant he was and the old boy did he job for years and years...Hardly missed a game.

Thanks Mr Eagle - we've fingers and toes crossed here to be able to finish above bottom 2!

Remember watching the Shots at Gay Meadow - might be biased but love the old grounds! Some of the new grounds we see are souless concrete monstrosities with little atmosphere. Having said that - a full stadium would be rocking!
