Julia Hartley-Brewer (not on Jack's recommended reading list, I imagine)
Spot on there Annie, not someone I tend to pay attention to. But in this instance I totally agree with her. :)

Maybe the EU can help her out. Accept their deal or leave on the 29th with no deal. That will suit me. Our MPs are a disgrace. They still seem to think it's in their hands.

Wasn't the point of Brexit the sovereignty of the British parliament?

We could always just leave on the 29th, which would at the end of the day be in line with what she said she would do. I can't buy into all this 'what the EU will allow' rubbish. The UK ultimately controls the situation. It's our MPs that are allowing it.

This morning the Uk controlled the situation. By this evening it's out of MP's hands.

I think May's statement this evening was (yet another) miscalculation on her part. She's only succeeded in infuriating people

She has done more for remain tonight than campaigners have done over 3 years!

I have signed loads of petitions and always get the same copy pasted response.

However, this one has been going only a few hours, it's fascinating to watch the numbers climb

This one will be on the news in a day or two. She certainly has brought the country together!

Thank you. That is what I voted for in 2016. Brexit not this shambles.. Who'd have thought that they could make such a huge muck up of something that is relatively simple.

To be fair John, we could unilaterally revoke Art50 to please the losers, then immediately invoke it and start all over again

Hi Remainers…...just as a matter of interest what is your plan "B" should Theresa not get her deal through...Norwegian? Canadian? Referendum? General election (another coalition)? Revoke A.50?.. Oh! ...and wouldn't any one of these options need a majority to get it through? ...

....good luck with that one... lol

Your next MEP? lol

Don’t blame Theresa for the mess we are currently in (she has a plan that delivers on most of what the majority voted for) you and your parliamentarians have tried to thwart the Democratic process at every juncture and our country is paying a heavy price for it.

Still loving Theresa xx

Just listened to an interview where a Remainer MP said he was of mind to back Theresa May's deal but has now changed his mind due to what Theresa said last night about who should share the blame for the impass....how bloody pathetic is that...he needs to grow up as do the rest of them.

News report suggests the EU aren’t prepared to extend beyond May 23 due to the impact on European MEP elections.

The govt. petition site has crashed, now is this due to volume of users or could it be Russian financed sabotage? :sarcasm:

It doesn’t matter a diddly squat how many Remainer votes they get….1 million or 16 million, what matters is the 17 million who voted to leave the EU and that is what we must do.

That's an impressive amount of people in that amount of time.

feelings are running very high both ways.

If, as MP Tom Brake tweets, there is no good Brexit, then why did the Government ask us to vote on it, why did Parliament agree to the referendum and why did Parliament invoke Article 50 to leave?

Tom Brake is responsible, as are all of the others who thought it a good idea until they didn't get the result they expected.
At least Tom Brake didn't have the audacity to stand at the last election on a manifesto of respecting the referendum result as did Soubry, Grieve, Woolaston, et al.

It's the MPs who have cocked up and it's the very same MPs who will pay the price with their jobs.
