Re: Snow!!
Wet snow falling but not settling. Trip to hospital for OH cataract op is 1mile each way. Three mins in the car! Got him there safely. Will have to keep busy to prevent too much worrying! Plan to change bed, make fish pie and bake a cake. He should be home mid afternoon.
I blame the Government, there should be a White Paper banning snow in March. Jay

Re: Snow!!
Glad to hear that you made it to the Hospital.
We've had to abandon all here. Hubby has cleared the drive but there is far too much to clear on our road and no-one else will bother
It's getting ridiculous now

Re: Snow!!
The last two days of persistent rain have turned into snow overnight
it is very windy and I'll discover just how cold it is when me and the dog venture out later
Roll on Thursday the 4th April to escape to hopefully warmer climes on the Azura

Re: Snow!!
We have a three feet snow drift in the drive so if anyone needs some exercise you are more than welcome to come and clear this. Coffee supplied but bring your own shovel!
Cannot remember so much snow in late March and it's still coming down.
Will be confined to quarters for the weekend - fortunately did a food shop on Thursday with the forecast in mind.

Re: Snow!!
We have wet, slushy horrible stuff coming down... Need to venture out some time today as light on food in the house. Still works well for the diet

Re: Snow!!
The snow here in Shropshire started at 9pm on Thursday evening, and is still coming down. I've just been outside and measured the depth of snow on the garden furniture, and it's 8 inches deep. The poor birds are trying to nest, and don't know what's happening - there are about 6 of them sat in a bush in the garden.

We stick out into the sea in Norfolk , it's cold and our bit is snow free, some falling around the coast and out west but just the odd flurry here, but nothing on the ground, yet.

Re: Snow!!
Our snow is just horrible slushy mush now. It's freezing cold and blowing a gale. Golf tomorrow is cancelled so we are going to do the only sensible and sane thing tonight.....and go to the pub.

Plenty of wet snow falling at 6am in Sarfend, but not settling on roads. Put me winter bike kit and still rode to work in London. The draw of double time
Lots of standing water, and reduced visibility but it was actually ok.

Re: Snow!!
Wow! In our north facing front garden it is windy and bitterly cold, but I have just come in from the sheltered, south facing back garden, where, with the lovely blue sky and sunshine, I was able to sit out on the deck for half an hour or so. And here in the conservatory, I have had to throw the doors open because it's so hot. Amazing.

Re: Snow!!
There's a very cold wind where we live but 10 miles down the road they have 8ft deep snowdrifts and blocked roads. The fells look absolutely glorious with their blanket of snow. Best viewed from afar though.
I was taught to be cautious

Big snowflakes floating around in Sarfend this morning. Not enough to settle, but still pretty rare for this part of the country at this time of year.

Cannot believe that I am reading this forum rather than the planned gardening weekend. Lying snow (10 days now) has thwarted all weeding, digging and planting projects. The garden refuse bin is due for collection on Tuesday and for the first time ever it will be empty.
Wherever you are I hope you have better and warmer Easter weather.

Re: Snow!!
Now that I have gone out and bought a thermal vest and thermal socks because I got bone chillingly cold the other day out in the garden, the weather here has improved and this morning we got into the garden and did a lot of tidying up. In fact, I got quite hot thanks to my new purchases of thermal clothes - wish I had bought them earlier in the yearSealion wrote:Cannot believe that I am reading this forum rather than the planned gardening weekend.
