Tell me Barney, is that the Norway option that he was promoting in 2016 (that he now says is a betrayal) or the Trezza/Keefy option, or a jobs first Brexit, which Brexit are we talking about?barney wrote: 25 Apr 2019, 19:18They have no manifesto Jack, but then you know that don't you. Please stop continually twisting everything that others say to suit your version of the facts it is getting tiresome and is starting to look like "Trolling"

Don't take it personally David. I like the verbal jousts with Jack and the way he rewrites history to suit his arguments. We'll miss him when it's all over...... Or I die, whichever is sooner
quite perversely, he questions small donations via ordinary folk while his side happily accept hundreds of thousands from a foreign billionaire with no legal skin in the game.

Of course we will. Jack is the Cruise Community Forum version of Farage. He/she is a one issue commentator. I can't remember him/her discussing much about cruising.

That is because he doesn't - although he does maintain that he cruises frequently, but we have yet to see any evidence of that!

Oh but I have and I don't think that three posts relating to cruising out of over 1,600 exonerates you.
Just in case you have missed something along the way this is, essentially, a cruise bases board where most of us are actually interested in other member's cruise experiences. Also with such a vast cruising experience I would have thought that by now you would have offered some help and advice to other members on cruise related topics.

Thank you. David, for that response. I was seriously starting to think about leaving this cruising forum and looking elsewhere for advice and reviews. I happily accept that we need other subjects to help keep people interested in the forum but Brexit seemed to dominate everything for a while and I feel that it was starting to drive some of the regular cruisers onto other sites.
Hopefully, with the main cruising period starting we will see more cruise reviews and news and less Brexit, Brexit, Brexit.

What would you expect from a topic entitled 'Brexit'?

Re: Brexit
As David says unless people are away on a cruise during the beginning of the year Brexit has seemed to dominate a lot of people's lives and conversations during the last few months (years!). Hopefully with the better weather more of us will be cruising and have tales to tell. We go, hopefully, two weeks on Sunday. I say 'hopefully' as John has developed a very nasty ear problem. Been to the GP once, told it was a blockage and given a steroid spray to use which did nothing. Then as he couldn't get another appointment for three weeks he completed an e-consult form which our Surgery uses. I've always found it very useful but the result of his was that a GP- not from our practice - sent him a text which directed him to a website via Google - very helpful!
Eventually after a lot of nagging from me to make a private appointment with an ENT Consultant our elder daughter took matters into her own hands. She happened to meet up with our female GP who is wonderful, told her about John's ears - by this time they were not exactly painful but very uncomfortable and his hearing had deteriorated to the extent that his hearing was minimal. She raised her eyebrows at the text and said, 'Ridiculous' and said she'd write a referral letter to an ENT Consultant at our fairly local Spire Hospital - where I had my knee replacement done. She did this and John now has an appointment to see the Consultant next Thursday. I know he can't wait, neither can I. The volume he puts the radio at practically hurts my ears! I know he's finding it very frustrating, and embarrassing to have to explain to people that he can't hear them. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something can be done to at least make things easier before we go on Arcadia, two weeks on Sunday.

Why not a Brexit themed cruise, possibly Jacob Rees Smug and the Essex bruiser Mark(up yours) Francois amongst the 'speakers' and could we have Nige setting up a stall in the atrium selling his snake oilKenmo1 wrote: 27 Apr 2019, 21:21david63 wrote: 26 Apr 2019, 11:26Just in case you have missed something along the way this is, essentially, a cruise bases board where most of us are actually interested in other member's cruise experiences.
