If he's not an idiot, surely he could have come up with something better when asked what he does to relax.

In a nutshell, he's staying schtum about his private life.
He's having a laugh at the journalist's expense.
I'm awaiting the next outrageous statement.

True, Barney.
The quesrtion is, are the members of the Conservative Party happy to have a leader who couldn't give a straight answer to a straight question, even if his life depended on it.
I think they are

Well that's been the case with most leaders of most parties and indeed most politicians for the last 50 years!

Re: Brexit
The question is indeed for the Conservative Party Members to answer and when they do it will be a resounding victory for Boris given that they will be perfectly capable of seeing through the garbage presently being spouted, in fact it is possible that it will even increase his share of the vote.
The also rans will then need to find another sad little prop to lean on

Personally I hope Boris wins. Then he will either deliver a good Brexit or he and it will be history.

I don't think the removal van needs to be too far away if he does get in once there is a general election.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 26 Jun 2019, 17:34Personally I hope Boris wins. Then he will either deliver a good Brexit or he and it will be history.
Personally I feel Hunt will get in.

He was a disaster as mayor of London.barney wrote: 26 Jun 2019, 11:29It always amuses me when folk deride public figures as idiots or buffoons.
If we look at the facts, Johnson is an elected MP, ex mayor of London twice (reelected) again elected as MP, Telegraph columnist earning 700 k a year.
Devicive yes.
Outspoken yes.
Self promoting yes.
But idiot and buffoon?
Highly unlikely.
Caveat. I am not a Johnson fan.
Nobody there has a good word to say about him.
And yes, he is a buffoon of the highest order as well as a habitual liar.

Re: Brexit
Bob, you must frequent a very closed community in London, we have several relatives living and working in London, they yearn to get back to the days when Boris was in charge, rather than the idiot they currently have.Quizzical Bob wrote: 26 Jun 2019, 22:30He was a disaster as mayor of London.barney wrote: 26 Jun 2019, 11:29It always amuses me when folk deride public figures as idiots or buffoons.

He as elected and then re-elected.
Hardly showing that he was a disaster.
If you can't stand the guy, then fine, but to post pure lies says more about you than it does about Johnson.
By the way, Khan is also NOT an idiot.

I was born in London and I have many relatives there still. Their views are unprintable.
Johnson is a serial liar. An example is when he got stuck on that zip wire. They asked him his weight so that the tension could be adjusted accordingly. He gave an answer that was way under his true weight. There are plenty of other examples.
I have never mentioned Khan.

Re: Brexit
In truth Bob, you don't have to look far to find there is a great difference between what most politicians say, what is truth or reflects their true intentions. I don't think Boris is any different.
Any electorate which votes in the likes of Corbyn, Abbott, Lammy, Butler, Thornberry & Co are not going to be supporting Boris so it should not be too difficult to find his detractors whatever their political stance.
I take whatever they say with a huge pinch of salt.

Re: Brexit
Boris must be a really bad person if he lies about his weight
I wonder how many people actually do know their true weight, I cannot remember the last time I stood on the scales but if weight is so important on a zip wire ride then scales should surely be installed at the point of embarkation.

That seems a bit of a lightweight example of a serial liar QB, go on try and make amends with a REAL lie!!!Quizzical Bob wrote: 01 Jul 2019, 07:04

I was also born in London and still know many people living there: the majority view is that he did a better job (with a good back-up team) than both his predecessor and his successor. That doesn't mean he's fit to run the country in normal circumstances, but normal circumstances these are not.
