Tassimo Coffee Maker
Tassimo Coffee Maker .... does anyone have one and what do you think of them ??
I've looked at them many times and wondered if I could justify the cost ( I am a huge coffee drinker ) or would it be something that just ends up in the back of a cupboard as many things do.
My local Tesco have them on offer with £50 off so it is looking a very attractive offer, if anyone has any feedback it would be appreciated.

From £60 in Argos depending on model. We had one but the pods can be expensive and could not always get full choice of pods at major supermarkets only online from Bosch. One day while in use water leaked inside machine and it went bang, we didnt replace it with another.

Hello DQ
Never had much luck with the very pricey faddiley coffee machines
But we now use a "Bialetti Moca Espresso Maker"
Very simple to use and effective with no hassle cleaning
Ours was around £12 and it has been used every day for many years in the gfw kitchen
So simple in design but makes for a smashing coffee
Do hope all is well on your patch and good coffee imbibing

We had one of these in a suite onboard once - must have been Arcadia. We didn't get on with it at all - much prefer instant and a kettle.

Yes, we have one and it works ok. The pods can be expensive but the coffee's quite good.

We had one but we found we couldn't get the coffee hot enough so we took it back and got a dualit percolator instead: well impressed!

Yes, we find that so we sometimes stick them in the microwave.Redrosegirlie wrote:We had one but we found we couldn't get the coffee hot enough so we took it back and got a dualit percolator instead: well impressed!

Re: Tassimo Coffee Maker
Thanks for the replies, I'll give it some more thought
I've had various coffee makers over the years and this seemed a good buy with £50 off but it still isn't cheap so I don't want to buy one and be disappointed, I was hoping someone would say it is the best thing since sliced bread
I'll maybe go into John Lewis or H of F and see what else is available and make the comparisons.

Hi Jo, we bought a Bosch Tassimo about 6 months ago. I have to say the coffee it makes is top notch, miles away from a cup of instant.
And the range of coffee (and other drinks) you can buy is amazing.
I would thoroughly recommend one.
Cheers
Gerry

I bought Julie a Tassimo a couple of years back for Christmas. She absolutely loves it (I personally do not drink coffee).
Usually at Christmas I would let her select a load of the t-discs from their web site (many of which are not stocked by supermarkets) and place an order giving her a wide variety of options. Her current favourites are the Costa, Caramel Macchiato and creme brulee discs.

Re: Tassimo Coffee Maker
As coffee adicts we have had all sort of machines over the years, from filter to pods and finally to a Bean to Cup machine. Pods are formula and they can get boring after a while, the taste can also be weak even using imported Lavazza Italian Expresso Pods as was our most disapppointing experience using a Kenwood Cafe Retro Expresso Machine !!
If you enjoy ' real ' coffee and wish to have endless choices and options then there is only one way to go but it aint cheap and that is to buy a Bean to Cup machine ... we have this one and NO regrets but it does take a bit of experimenting to achieve the result that ticks all your boxes.
In this World you get what you pay for so go for broke

Crikey Mob. You can get a fair few cups of Nescaff for the price of that.
I have tried all sorts of machines but the best one so far for me, without going into the expensive machines, is the boil on the hob type which the continentals all seem to use. I wouldn't mind a milk frother but there is such a variety of those out there and some don't work anyway.
The only problem as I see it with the Tassimo type machines is you're stuck with sachets. I prefer the flexibility of the loose ground coffee.

If I had booked a Getaway fare instead of going early I could have afforded 4 of those machines and still had money over for a bucket full of coffee. I'll not be making that mistake again.

Re: Tassimo Coffee Maker
Thanks for all the additional replies, I must admit it is something I have thought about buying for ages but hadn't a clue which would suit me best, then seeing this offer made me think about it again, as I said I'm a huge coffee drinker and getting the right one would be more important than cost so I'll do a bit of research now but it's looking as if that's my birthday present sorted out in a few weeks time

Go for it - you'll love it!
There are any number of different discs, so you can have fun finding your favourite. We've found the Amazon disc package works for us. You sign up for a monthly consignment (though you can cancel or amend this at any time; you're not totally committed) and it comes in at about 20% off the normal prices.
If you love coffee, the Tassimo is well worthwhile

I have a Nespresso pixie. I love it. Great tasting coffee range.
Coffee pods are 29 - 33 p each.
Buy them from nespresso only.
Don't buy from Amazon!!!

We also stock up with pods when we are in France. They have a different selection over there.

Being a poor pensioner I have stuck with this.

A lot cheaper and I can enjoy my favourite coffee blends without paying the extortionate price of those pod things
