leaves up to my knees
If any of you have tried to get leaves off gravel drives you will know how difficult it is.....using a blower has its benefits but dry weather and picking up winter-fall leaves very rarely come together thus making them very difficult to budge, raking is never that succseful as you tend to rake up more stones than leaves.
We have quite a large driveway which is laid with "loose" moonstone gravel, we also have an abundance of trees which drop mountains of leaves.
(As l'm always looking to make my wife's workload easier).....Using the mower to pick up the leaves off the grass works well but l thought to myself, why not use the mower on the gravel driveway?..."CRAZY" l hear you say, but hey! It works. Using a petrol mower on its highest setting it picked up the leaves while leaving the gravel in place.....no flicking up of stones.
Not recommended for flymower or pea gravel.

Does one's gardeners not do such menial tasks?

Here at Smurf Towers the staff willingly pick them up one at a time - although it may be more to do with them getting a shilling for each sackful that they collect.

Have you tried lightly brushing with a stiff broom.
I'm surprised your windows are all in one piece. I can visualise stones flying out from under the mower like a machine gun

I found that illegal immigration seems to have spread to the autumn leaves, we had several very large alien species that did not appear to be from any of the trees in our close neighbourhood, where the trees are mainly rowan, silver birch and sycamore.

Why not leave the leaves where they are and buy stilts to raise the height of your knees?
