For a while the road was white with snow up here in Cumbria but it was followed by slushy rain which quickly washed it away.

I got talking to the chap who cuts our hedges the other day and asked for his prediction about what weather we could expect throughout the winter.....wet, wet, wet, was his reply.....l said ..."anything more original" to which he replied "February" could see snow but it will depend on which way the wind blows

Talk about 'hedging' his bets

Remember the forecasters who said this was going to be the worst winter for years with snow in November lasting right through Christmas? I know it could still turn bad but it's a bit late and a bit average so far
