"Outlander"
Are any of you watching?
We started watching this historical (fictional in parts) series a few weeks back and have just finished the first series....with season 5 to be released shortly.
This isn't for the prudish due to some very raunchy sex scenes, it also takes you into some very uncomfortable areas which even l found a little upsetting.
"After serving as a British Army nurse in World War II, Claire Randall is enjoying a second honeymoon in Scotland with husband Frank, an MI6 officer looking forward to a new career as an Oxford historian. Suddenly, Claire is transported to 1743 and into a mysterious world where her freedom and life are threatened. To survive, she marries Jamie Fraser, a strapping Scots warrior with a complicated past and a disarming sense of humour. A passionate relationship ensues, and Claire is caught between two vastly different men in two inharmonious lives. `Outlander' is adapted from the best-selling books by Diana Gabaldon."
Absolutely loving it....you will too if you have Netflix or Amazon prime.

Buying or selling, and what's the mileage.

I've read all the books and they are excellent. Know what you mean about raunchy. I would imagine the word is more explicit than the screen!! I haven't seen the series but the books fairly smoulder!!

I love this show, and I’ve read some of the books. I like dual timeline stories, time travel and Scotland, so it ticks several boxes for me.Onelife wrote: 03 Feb 2020, 15:03Are any of you watching?

I don’t think it’s currently on Netflix, but I believe it’s on Amazon. I’ve watched it on E4, they’ve showed a season each summer over the last few years. I preferred the earlier seasons set in Scotland, rather than the last season ( season 4?) that I saw that was based in the West Indies.
I’d certainly recommend Outlander - but it’s not for the faint hearted

I don't know how true the series is to the book but if you do watch it l wouldn't mind betting you'll be blushing more than what you did when reading the book.

Hi Gill,
West Indies?.... Claire and Jamie certainly get about a bit....They were just escaping to France at the end of series one.
I'm envious of you Gill as you will probably know how that sadistic Black, Jack Randall ends up?....l just hope it's a painful death. He played his role so well that nothing other than a five foot pole shoved up his back passage would do him justice...don't you think?.....thinking about it, no spoilers..Thank you!
I think Claire plays her role superbly as dose Jamie both giving a fascinating insight into the culture and historical events of 18th century Scotland.
We didn't treat the Scots very nicely did we Gill?...perhaps Nicole Sturgeon dose have a case for independence?
