Have you got an annex ….. ?
Put her in a nice B&B otherwise she washes her hands and applies the viral gel in the garage, then puts on a fresh pair of latex gloves before ringing the bell / knocking the door. You listen out for a cough and pass a thermometer through the letter box for her to show you the reading.
Can't she postpone the start date ?
Seriously … it depends if either you or Mrs OL are in the vulnerable grouping, if you are it's a non starter as far as I am concerned.

Re: Coronavirus - Self isolation - Tips
I’ve just been in touch with my friend - I visit her every Wednesday but have stayed at home today. She is upset as her daughter has told her not to pick up her grandsons from school tomorrow. She is picking up a new car and had promised the boys a ride in the new car after school and is worried they will be upset too (they are aged 5 and 8). Really difficult but she and her husband are in the over 70’s category although in good health and she doesn’t want to be so restricted but that’s not really a choice now.
My DIL’s mother has lost a friend and she said it was awful she couldn’t comfort her but again she is over 80 and vulnerable - so sad

Hi Mob....no annex but we do have two bathrooms. We are already practicing good hygiene routines but there is little defence against knowing what she could be bringing into the house while seemingly unaffected (which, it has to be said will be the same situation with many thousands of other families)Manoverboard wrote: 18 Mar 2020, 11:37Have you got an annex ….. ?

The job is a zero hours contract (entomology field work) so she will be working outside with one other person.....but hey it only takes one person to infect a nation?
I did seriously think about setting up a tent but realistically if she were to come down with the virus, a damp tent won't be the place to recover.
Things could drastically change in a couple of weeks so l think it's a case of wait and see.
You stay healthy mate.

Re: Coronavirus - Self isolation - Tips
Just been to Morrisons. Don't know why we bothered. We got plenty of booze, so we might starve to death but we won't go thirsty.
Just phoned Boris and said we couldn't get any bread. Two Hovis Sead Sensations coming via his private car. It's not what you know it's who you know

A friend, just returned from Tesco, described the experience as "like Christmas, but less good natured".screwy wrote: 18 Mar 2020, 12:42Good job this didn’t happen close to Xmas, just think of the panic in the shops then.![]()

Re: Coronavirus - Self isolation - Tips
Since then I have had another email from Sainsbugs and it seems that the booking system is about to change, the general idea is to give priority time slots to those of us who are self isolating. There are other changes that should help the situation no endManoverboard wrote: 15 Mar 2020, 14:18I just signed on to see if our deliveries are/are not available for the next three weeks. The whole thing is blank rather than showing the usual little green ticks so I suspect that Sainsbugs have a Sains type Bug.Whynd1 wrote: 15 Mar 2020, 11:41Every week I have a sainsbury delivery, from tomorrow for the next 3 weeks all the slots have gone,so if you had to self iso.ate and were depending on that for a delivery you would be out of luck.
Try again later is my advice![]()

Re: Coronavirus - Self isolation - Tips
A Sainsbury's delivery driver told me last week that if you get an early morning one the pickers pack it at crack of dawn while the shelves are as full as they're going to be, so better chance of getting necessities. Mind you, that information is a week or so out of date, and a minute is a long time at the moment.Stephen wrote: 18 Mar 2020, 15:53Time slot priority![]()

Re: Coronavirus - Self isolation - Tips
Thursday mornings may be a good idea as the shelves will be full for the weekend purchases but they are intending to restrict purchases in store for a couple of hours for the ' vulnerables ' only.anniec wrote: 18 Mar 2020, 16:17A Sainsbury's delivery driver told me last week that if you get an early morning one the pickers pack it at crack of dawn while the shelves are as full as they're going to be, so better chance of getting necessities. Only last week she was a full time mummy selling bath bombs on Facebook! ... Goes to show, never judge a book by its cover..!
