I think the Government should stop sending out mixed messages......so children can go to the park but should keep their distance from each other.....Yeah right! ......and they will sanitise every piece of playground equipment they play on no doubt??? Crazy!!!

If they go to the park it should be under supervision of a carer and not be allowed to do their own thing as will be the case in most parks/estate playgrounds if unsupervised.
What is your beef with the Govt Keefie, are you still mad at them for shutting down horse racing?
I'll book myself in for therapy

Eh? I thought that was London and West Midlands. Has Hampshire had a spurt?
Hampshire seems to be quite a hot spot

Currently only 2 confirmed cases on the Isle of Wight.

At first we thought returning cruise ship passengers getting off cruises in Portsmouth and Southampton were causing the high number but I think it is more likely that a lot of people from Hampshire travel to London for work in the City.

Hi Maureen, glad to see you are ok. It's much the same here not so many commute from here as from Hampshire, so lower numbers than there. Best wishes to Ken, and Dave if you see him. I guess the New Homwood is more ar less closed.

We are ok thanks Frank. Glad to see Sue is doing well. We used to meet up with our friends twice a week but as off yesterday we have decided to just communicate via telephone until further notice. Take care. Maureen xx

Bizarre that when we managed to return to the UK yesterday, at Newcastle Airport all the passengers from our flight were crammed like sardines into two airport buses for the trip from the plane to the terminal. Why couldn't they have added an extra bus or two so we could be safely spaced? Its not like the airport was busy. By the way Waitrose at the services on the A1M just south of Newcastle has eggs. Just saying

My sister, husband and handicapped daughter had a ride out to Stratford-upon-Avon yesterday (they stayed in the car) having parked up they witnessed many people not observing the two metre between persons advice, some she said were passing each other practically rubbing shoulders over Clopton Bridge.....If things don't change by tomorrow Boris should do what he should have done days ago....inforce it!!

It is a big disappointment that Brits nowadays seem incapable of applying common sense, not only in not observing the suggested social distancing, but with supermarket hoarding as well. I do hope we dont have to bring in the draconian measures that France and Spain have adopted, but it does rely on us all being sensible.

I have a friend who is marooned in Spain at the moment - she drove out there several weeks ago to meet up with friends at a camp site and is having problems getting home. She says there is a complete shutdown on the site - the police are very strict - the isolation rules are being enforced and she is convinced we need the same rules here otherwise it is inevitable we will be in the same situation as Spain with more deaths. She has no idea when she will be allowed to drive to the ferry - her only way back to the UK - frightening situation to be in.

We are ticking off how many meals we have left at present. Today we made a tin of sardines do, mixed with sultanas, lemon juice and stirred into pasta. Ekeing it out like that, we think we can go three weeks before the larder and freezer is empty. There is no chance of a supermarket delivery in the forseeable future. In the end we shall have appeal on the forum for food parcels. Top quality organic stuff only, UK produce (we'll make an exception for the caviar and champagne). You can also contribute the tax paid to our cause. We know how generous you all are.

The mind boggles dosen't John........what's wrong with these people?

I know this sounds a bit ott but l think we have reached the time that supermarkets should introduce a 3 metre stop go system whereby customers have to leave the required distance between shoppers before proceeding. This would also apply outside the stores. Time consuming maybe, but safer l would suggest.
