My sister, husband and handicapped daughter had a ride out to Stratford-upon-Avon yesterday (they stayed in the car) having parked up they witnessed many people not observing the two metre between persons advice, some she said were passing each other practically rubbing shoulders over Clopton Bridge.....If things don't change by tomorrow Boris should do what he should have done days ago....inforce it!!

Three days per week you could have ;
* A bowl of home made Soup with a baguette / toast.
* Omelette, chips and peas
* A take-a-way from the local pub.
None of the above are difficult to get and now your stuff in the larder / freezer will last 4 1/2 weeks … easy peasy
We decided to walk to M&S this morning, for fresh vegetables. We go through a wooded area, so it’s always quiet. When we got to M&S the shelves were stocked, and it was very quiet and calm, and people were able to keep a distance. We walked past Sainsbury’s and it appeared to be quiet in there too, so tomorrow we intend going in the car, and attempt a reasonably normal weekly shop.
Maybe the message has started to sink in regarding social distancing - but I’m not convinced.
I think we need further action from the government to close us down, and we need it today. I saw some awful footage of ill people in Spain lying on the floor in corridors, because there were no beds or even trollies for them to lay on. How awful would it be to see that here.
I also think government communication is poor. We need public information films on TV. They managed to do this for ‘Get Ready For Brexit’, so they should be ramming the message home on TV, telling us exactly what to do, and showing what is happening elsewhere, so people understand what’ll happen if the measures aren’t complied with

I don't think government communication can be any better. What part of 'Stay at Home' do people not understand? It cannot be put any plainer than that. Unfortunately people are so selfish and stupid it looks like Boris will have to impose lockdown before these clowns start to take any notice and do as they are told.
The same happened with panic buying. It fed into the panic stricken, more gullible and selfishly irresponsible of our nation who took it upon themselves to raid the supermarkets to the extent where they created a shortage where none existed before.
It is this total lack of irresponsibility which is going to make the pandemic worse. Boris tried to appeal to us as adults but it looks like he will have to treat us like children and impose lockdown. Sadly people are unable to do it for themselves and they have only themselves to blame.
On a lighter note there are quite a few community groups who are offering their services to those who cannot manage for themselves. I, for one, am grateful to these people and all the key workers who are working to keep us safe and supplied.
Stay at home yes, if you are in the vulnerable and or age category otherwise if you need to go out keep your distance from others and certainly stay away from any gatherings. Which bit of this advise don't people understand.

You are doing exactly the same as we're doing - we're going out for essential food shopping and a daily walk for health - it's very quiet around here so we can keep a good distance.
Perhaps your apparent light hearted approach is your coping mechanism.

I was wondering if you had any farm shops in your area, or local 'artisan' food suppliers. A lot are now doing home deliveries, so it might be an something for you investigate, in order to 'beef up' your supplies until you get your Sainsbury's delivery
