No, I have one that I wheel out when required. It usually lives in the garage.

I've have written a long list of things I intend to do around the house during this lock down. The trouble is I can't get enthusiastic about any of them. However, I did help Ken paint the back fence a few days ago but the panels I did look absolute rubbish compared to the ones he did so I don't think I'll be asked to help again in a hurry.

I've written one of those lists of things I could do over the next couple of months but don't want to do them all at once :lolno:

I agree Maureen about inclination - nothing worse than starting a job and wishing before half way through that you hadn't begun it in the first place!!!

I've baked today - will give most of it away to my mother and neighbour - its just something I enjoy doing and passes the time.

Oh well cuppa now and trying a piece of my victoria sponge made with cream and apricot jam

Keefy and John - I would hate you to think I wasn't trying very hard to be helpful but it was such a lovely day that I just kept sitting down on the patio chair and dozing off, so the bits I did do were done in a hurry (and a sleepy daze).

I’m finding it quite difficult to concentrate on anything at the moment. I’ve always read a lot, but it’s taken me about a month to read one book. We’re watching things on Netflix, but it all seems from another era, as there’s no social distancing going on!

We will keep the garden tidy, and I’ve got some old photos that I want to scan onto the computer, but it is difficult to find the enthusiasm.

The only thing that distracts me are word games and jigsaws on my iPad.

The silly thing is that we always wish for more spare time to do things that we think need to be done BUT when we get the chance we don't know how/ or want to do those things that we always thought were so important or necessary.

I'm glad I'm not the only confused/disorientated person around.

Baking has been limited to rock cakes (1 egg) because of shortages. Also we are ekeing out our store of flour. Very limited supplies of which are available in our local supermarkets and we are reliant on deliveries, which even with Sainsburys 'vilnerable' policy are non existent. We really are locked down now. So Jan just the thought of a delicious jam and cream sponge qualifies as mental torture here. :D

On 'acquired wood. I remember reading a story back in the 1980's (or thereabouts) ... not sure if it is authored, true, or an urban legend.

A motorist was in court for dangerous driving. He had had an accident and knocked down a telegraph pole (remember them). He was fined for driving plus made to pay to replace the telegraph pole. The motorist then made a plea that if he was paying for the new pole then he should be able to have the old one (thinking he could mitigate his losses by chopping it up and selling it for fire wood).

The judge rejected his request saying 'you cannot acquire telegraph poles simply by knocking them down'.

Who ME :o

No Maureen, I was given it. There were professional tree fellers (or was that four :) ) working at the bottom of our road and I noticed a pile of cut up tree trunks. Being the opportunist I asked what they were going to do with them. Dump them they said, so I asked if it was OK for me to take them. They even cut up a couple of the bigger pieces so I could get them into the car easier. It took a couple if trips but I got a nice lot of cherry among the load that once cut up and seasoned will keep us going in logs for a while next year

I trust this will be fully dried before you entrust it to your air polluting stove?

Of course John. It does the log burner no favours if you don't. As for polluting, it is a new log burner (fitted last June) that conforms to the latest environment safety standards and is 80% more efficient than an open fire. I believe we had this discussion already on one of the Fun and Games threads a while back.
