Oh gawd...260 more deaths in the UK..so :(
I think this is the time to brace ourselves, because the next couple of weeks are not going to be very good. Especially as the cases transmitted last weekend when people were acting like was a bank holiday will soon be making themselves known.

On the grocery delivery front, I've registered my husband with Iceland, as the 'elderly person' criteria starts at start pension age, and not 70. However, even though he's in this priority category, there still weren't any delivery slots available.

We'll go to Sainsbury's on Tuesday, and this time, I'm going to disinfect the shopping in the garage, before bringing them into the house.

The risk is clearly growing, but cases round here still seem low. But, I feel it's time for me to put further measures in place.
Hi Gill,

I think there is fast coming a time where we just count the numbers and lose sight of the human loss. I’ve just turned off my pop-up news box on my computer as its keeps updating world death toll news…it doesn’t make good reading.

I managed to get my medication home delivered today and took the same hygiene precaution’s as others are taking. We leave all mail until the following day and have told our postman to leave parcels on the step.
We are fortunate in that we have managed to get home food deliveries, although we were informed that certain good would be restricted on amounts from now on. We like you have few cases in our area so supermarkets don’t seem to have been plundered as much.
If I was younger and healthier, I would be out there helping but it doesn’t stop one feeling guilty that others are putting their lives on the line and I am not.

What is happening is heart-breaking.

Thanks to every one of them

Just listened to a news report where Russians are still going to church despite an increase in the infection rate…the reporter focused on two women attending church, they were asked what they thought about Covi19?….one of the women replied saying..” she couldn’t catch it because she was in a church”…the reporter then went on to say the women was a Doctor

May God help her.

Yes, we heard that remark - absolutely unbelievable especially as the congregation were obviously not practising social distancing. Idiots

I’ve heard from a friend, who lives in Cheshire. Her husband’s best friend from university days contracted the virus, and has sadly died. He had various underlying health conditions, and hadn’t left the house for several weeks, They think he may have caught it from family or carers.

It suddenly feels a lot more real.

It’s awful for the wife, as she has now got to go into isolation and there won’t be a full funeral.

The health of carers will be a worry for lots families, my BIL is totally dependant on his carers and needs them 4 times a day plus once overnight, and we worry that they are almost certain to eventually bring the virus into the house, even though they will be doing their best to avoid being infected themselves or to pass it on. But with 5 visits a day from lots of different carers, the odds are against him and my SIL staying healthy.

Perhaps a communal one outside the council offices
17 years ago I worked for North Norfolk District Council, working on the introduction of wheelie bins to its less than appreciative audience of council tax payers. One day we were all outside at lunchtime when a disgruntled resident drove a trailer onto the car park, shot about 50 overflowing bin bags onto the staff parking spaces, and hared off while we all stood open-mouthed.

As for the unintended hilarity provided by some terraced house dwellers, who rang us in droves to complain that they "couldn't get the bins up their back passage"...

My niece and her husband were stopped going in together at their local Sainsbury's, only one allowed in.

I, have two compost heaps and a full green bin. Compost is good stuff especially if you have sandy or impoverished soil. Ours were supplied under a Poole council scheme 20 years ago.

We got ours through our council scheme about 3 years ago........l think they cost in the region of £27 for two.......really good quality.

We've emptied both this past couple of days and are expecting a bumper crop of fruit and veg because of it......susie and dotty provide the poo.

You won't need Susie and Dotty if you eat that lot!
