Very many thanks, Bob.
Did it help?
It did, thank you. Any idea how to fix dishwashers?

Try cleaning the filters and make sure that the spray arms are rotating freely. And use the longer cycle and see what happens.

Thanks Bob; no need though. My son-in-law, along with my daughter, has moved in for the duration and I've kindly designated him official washer-upper.

It was falling apart before the lock down, but my tight-fisted streak didn't wish to replace it until it actually died. Now regretting this stupid decision.

Imagining myself on the prom deck with a glass of fizz. What weather we would have had for our sailaway today.

Sigh

We should have just arrived back from our QE cruise in S.E.Asia and been in London staying with our second daughter, for the whole family going to the Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea tomorrow, to celebrate Tony’s 70th.

Instead, we are having a Zoom party tomorrow, all in our separate homes. Yes we’ll have a cake and champagne, but shan’t be able to share it with them.

We should have been in La Coruna on Spirit of Discovery. About to have coffee in the garden sitting on our new Swing Seat in the sun so not all bad. Very lucky to have a garden.

We should have been arriving in Barcelona tomorrow on Oceania Riviera, after leaving Malaga yesterday.
Our June cruise hasn’t been cancelled yet but it’s just a matter of time before it is.

Today we would have been going on the Red Jet to Southampton to join the Azura after its refit. It would have been our first balcony instead of our usual inside cabin. Also, we have not paid the balance on two other cruises, one for June and one for August. One in October is still on deposit but we are not expecting to pay the balance for that so that will almost certainly be cancelled by us. The funny thing is I'm not as bothered as I expected to be other than it would have been lovely to try a balcony. However, I think it has helped that the weather has been so good (except for the last two miserable days) but it has perked up today and looks good for the next few days at least.

The bonus is, other than a bit more money in the bank than usual as we are not spending anything except for food, I now have the cleanest house I have ever had and the garden is the tidiest it has been in years :D :D

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

How lovely to have a positive post Maureen - so many of the posts on the forum are too depressing - I don’t get involved in politics and I’m not burying my head in the sand I’m just living my life in isolation and hoping the powers that be will conquer this virus in whatever way they can. Like you my garden has definitely benefitted from the good weather and the lockdown - the house not so much and like you my immediate cruises are cancelled. Who knows when we will cruise again - I’m not put off just believe safety is the main issue. I desperately miss my family and friends but thank goodness for technology. Stay safe xxx

Like you Maurwen I have a cruise booked for October so balance due at end of June, so that looks like being cancelled.

I was looking at maybe cruising in December but was wondering if anyone had done the bay of biscay early December and what the weather would be like.

Sainsburys delivered yesterday and doe the first time since lockdown had tinned tomatoes, such joy. !!!!!

Hope your cruise goes ahead in December. If there's any good news in this it's that we have crossed the BOB in December and it wasn't bad at all.

We have done it in early January and while it was a bit rough, it was nothing that Ventura, in our case, could not handle, and there seemed little incidence of sea sickness.
