Next cruise
We’ve already lost 2 this year and the November one is on the new ship which will probably be delivered late.
Holding off booking any more at the moment.

That’s exactly what we’ve been doing over the last few years. We get the train to somewhere like Herne Bay or Margate and then walk along the coast to the next station and go home from there. The longest walk we did was from Birchington to Broadstairs- that was quite a hike. We take a packed lunch, and eat it on the way. It would have been perfect weather this month for good walking. Hopefully at some point this year we’ll get a chance to do it again. If not by train, when non essential travel is allowed again we could drive to Herne Bay and walk to Reculver and back.gilly88 wrote: 25 Apr 2020, 17:37hair cuts!... no problem, and yes I do have a full head of hair. but as i have the fortune of 20 years as a hairdresser, I have always managed to cut my own, and my husbands, and sons. although the eldest has now deserted me to use a posh barbers, I blame his girlfriend!
I wish the government would open up the coastal areas again though, I really miss my walk along the coastal paths of Kent. I'm sure I could social distance, and I would take a flask of tea, so I don't need a café!. might need a loo somewhere along the way though.![]()

we do that one, but only when the wind is not cutting across in a north or chilly easterly direction.Gill W wrote: 25 Apr 2020, 18:02That’s exactly what we’ve been doing over the last few years. The latter is on our future agenda at some point.Manoverboard wrote: 25 Apr 2020, 17:03Apart from rail an alternative to sea cruising is river cruising and another is cruising on the Wessex Rose but for any of these options the virus would have to be long gone.

And you would probably lose at that
Quite likely, the ladies in his family home are as sharp as buttons ( are buttons sharp ? ) and it really isn't OL's fault that he stutters.

What l can say for sure is that with two girls in the house l don't get a word in edge wise other than to get "snapped" at.Manoverboard wrote: 28 Apr 2020, 09:13Quite likely, the ladies in his family home are as sharp as buttons ( are buttons sharp ? ) and it really isn't OL's fault that he stutters.

One of the most relaxing holidays we have had was when we hired a narrow boat.It was a rather surreal experience chugging along at 4mph when the rest of the world was rushing around. We stopped at a fair few canalside pubs along the way, in fact one day we only managed a few miles due to stopping off for elevenses, then lunch, then a snooze followed by evening meal and a few miles to park up/dock/berth or whatever you call it.Manoverboard wrote: 25 Apr 2020, 17:03Apart from rail an alternative to sea cruising is river cruising and another is cruising on the Wessex Rose but for any of these options the virus would have to be long gone.

Never been on a narrow boat holiday Foxy but I’ve opened many a lock gates in my time. Me and my mates used to play around the canals of a place called Preston Bagot Warwickshire. We were always happy to give an helping and even made a bob or two on occasions.oldbluefox wrote: 28 Apr 2020, 14:12One of the most relaxing holidays we have had was when we hired a narrow boat.It was a rather surreal experience chugging along at 4mph when the rest of the world was rushing around. On the way we saw some amazing wildlife and took the opportunity to chill out. There was plenty of history along the way, some lovely little villages, friendly people and it was wonderful waking up each morning to wide open countryside.

We owned a small one for 20 years. Loved it.oldbluefox wrote: 28 Apr 2020, 14:12One of the most relaxing holidays we have had was when we hired a narrow boat.It was a rather surreal experience chugging along at 4mph when the rest of the world was rushing around.
